What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Chicken curry.

Went to the Indian shop and bought everything authentic including real basmati rice (a rare thing in Spain). Bit of an investment in spices, green raisins and seeds, but a whole chicken for just €3.50. Not sure I want to think about that too much - I have seen where they are grown :(

Anyway, real chicken Madras :)

I had Singapore noodles with ginger king prawns, prawn toast and prawn crackers - followed by rolo yoghurts

onion bajhi, saag aloo, bombay potato, tandori chicken, tandori tikka massala, chapatis

I am having a break from curry. I never thought I'd say it but I have OD on it!

lol, The first thing I cooked after a week in Delhi was a curry :)

Food out there was amazing and all it did was inspire me to try making new dishes.

Roast chicken thighs with a pork/sage/onion stuffing (they were on offer, so bought ready prepared), homemade garlic wedges, yorkshires, asparagus, tenderstem broccoli and gravy and we're making melting middle chocolate puddings for afters...to have with some vanilla ice cream.

Yesterday I experimented doing Thai fishcakes and tempura broccoli, which was ok but not great and needs to be tried again. Today will be a pizza with leftover roast chicken, half wholemeal base, garlic and smoked paprika tomato sauce, and other bits.

Thin slices of roast beef in a Yorkshire pud wiv gravy, roasties , broccoli, carrots, and mini stuffing balls. mini apricot frangipane's with creme fraiche fer afters

Lasagne. Might put the sauce on in a minute so it can simmer for a few hours.

Got some crusty bread that might still be ok so will make some garlic bread too.

We were going to do the M&S deal but they only had chicken or gammon left.

Not sure....Its back of the cupboard time....so millet , lentils. quinoa, brown rice, celery, spinach , tomatoes , mushy peas(got 12 tins) onions sweet potato, red potato.....maybe a lentil shepherds pie with mushy peas on the side and some spinach.

I had am amazing roast lunch which has made me really hungry because I go so full and my tummy has been stretched:oops:

Finally demolished a chicken madras. It was good.

This evening I have red wine with a plate of Asturian goodies. Ham, cheese (very nice mature mountain cheese), and chocolate :)

Think I have peace for the night also.

I did red wine and wild boar sausage (+ veggie for the littlun) toad in the hole with mash, buttered cabbage and gravy made from Saturday's roast chicken remnants, and bottle of Prosecco. Didn't have room for my Mums blackberry and apple pie so we'll have that tonight.

Got some pork chops and spied a herb sauce to go with them later in a Nigel Slater book. No idea what to have with them, don't fancy potatoes.

I got a shitty cold supermarket sandwich. I'm sure it has warmed up a bit now, but I can't eat it as there is someone sitting right next to me and it doesn't seem to right to eat one foot away from a stranger, esp the way I eat
One of my nans was like that - she'd have a thermos of coffee or smooth textured soup for train journeys, sandwiches cut into quarters with their filling chosen to give the least offence, and she still wouldn't want to be seen "munching them in public".

Beef casserole. No potatoes though :hmm: what to have instead? Maybe rice would suffice?
Rice, pasta, noodles, dumplings? As long as it fills that potato shaped space, IMHO it doesn't matter that much.

Bak choi, peking cabbage, scallions, broccoli and strips of beef stir-fried in a sesame paste, soy sauce, lime, chilli, garlic, ginger sauce. Served with buckwheat noodles. Made by me, not the canteen!

Sounds lovely, that, yugi. I'm having Chinese tonight too. Made by the New Hong Kong, not me. I'm thinking green peppers, black bean sauce and shit along those lines.

Found some paella rice that needs using up. Got some grated carrot out the freezer which I will chuck in for veggie nutrition.

My lass made a big red pepper and tomato soup yesterday but me and the fella fancied Chinese, so we're having some tonight instead.

I'm not mad keen on it just being a soup though, not substantial enough for tea, so I'm gonna pour it over a load of conchiglie, and smother with some creamy Lancashire cheese
