What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Marinaded some chicken thighs with garlic, thyme, lemon juice and then roasted them. Roasted some peppers, carrots and parsnips too. Made a quick pan sauce with the chicken juices + little water + half a stock cube. Was lovely :)

Pasta, Pesto and cheese. Simple and quick :)

Threw in a whole bag of spinach for the greens/health. Was delicious :)

Tonight there are things to use up. Some greens and some sausages so not sure how that will work :hmm:

Nice sausages
Mushrooms
Celery (I like but KittyP doesn't)
Asparagus
Spring Onions
White onions
Red onions
Half bag of spinach, watercress and rocket

^ looks like a sausage casserole to me :)

It could be. Not sure if the (mixed bag of) spinach, watercress and rocket will fit in though. Maybe a salad for lunch...

Have you got potatoes? Could make mash and mix them in, like a bastardised colcannon?

No potatoes. May pick some up later. I think a spinach, watercress and rocket with celery salad for lunch.

Roasted vine tomatoes, fried off some chicken with garlic and cooked it in a bit of milk. served with salad and brown pasta.

Mahoosive soup tonight. Black-eyed beans, red lentils, onions, garlic, celery, carrots, left over kale, smidge of parmesan and mushroom ketchup, 'errrbs

I liked that rhubarb crumble so much I might go and buy another one for later. Fucking well phwoar with that extra thick double cream.

Might also treat ourselves to a bottle of nice wine too, as we're both out gigging separately on Saturday night so won't be getting a drink together then.

Pasta pesto. All I've got in the house. :( Haven't even got a bit of grated cheese to go on top. :( Brackets please, suburban. :(

i feel like I deserve a take away later. I've only had 1 take away in the last 3 years. Take aways are a bit crap if you're eating by yourself as there's always too much and it's bloody expensive once you've paid for delivery. Not sure I care tonight though.

Not been eating spectacularly this week and skipped quite a lot of meals so I'm cooking something big and healthy. Pasta with spinach and sauce made of onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, courgettes and avocado sliced on top. Served with mustardy lamb's livers

We had to go to my son's options evening tonight...then took him to the barber which is right next to the chippy....and it has become *tradition* that we have chips after parents eves etc at his school (just cos it's generally too late to start cooking...and it's right on the route home :D ) so they had masses of chips with a saveloy for my son and a battered sausage for my daughter. I was going to get a roe....but I got two tinnies instead  and when I've had those, I'm going to have........soup :(

It needs using tbf....and in fact, so does the pate, so I reckon I'll have pate on toast, too....plus I DO have a cream doughnut in the fridge an' all :hmm:

Urgh. Takeaway pizza fail :( Had to spend over £10 for free delivery so ended up getting a large pizza just for myself. The bottom of it was burnt. It was cold. And had loads of hidden super hot chillies all over it that practically set my insides on fire. Obviously being a pig, I still ate the whole thing and now I feel like total crap.

I had a whacking big bowl of bean chilli. While it was very tasty, with loads of cumin and coriander in it, sad to say I am farting like a racehorse now.
Am I right in thinking that happens if the beans aren't cooked enough?

Tonight will be some sort of garlicky chicken with even more of this mountain of new potatoes we have. And possibly something green if there's anything left in the fridge.

The garlic breaded chicken was great, along with potatoes with loads of Dijon mustard & chives and some leftover homemade spinach and tomato curry.

I keep eating weird combinations of food his week, all of which have very strong flavours. Nearly 4 weeks since giving up 20+ years of daily spliffs (and baccy as I never smoked fags) - the taste buds are coming alive again and can't resist going for absolute taste overload. Love it. Tonight will be a mental hot curry :)

Can I make potato croquettes with semolina? :hmm: I don't have a food processor so it's a bastard making breadcrumbs
