What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Very pleased with the chicken, mushroom and asparagus pie I made last night with carrot and swede mash, and tatties. It was delish! :)

Mrs R had a minor op yesterday so will be cooking some nice stuff she likes, although I've left her with a mountain of chocolate, crumpets and ready meals so she probably won't have room for anything :D

Last night was fish pie with roast asparagus and boiled new potatoes in butter, Dijon mustard and chives. Have nearly perfected my fish pie - layer of cod and prawns poached in milk and double cream, then leeks and mushrooms sweated down in butter, then then a white sauce made from the milk and cream poured over, then sliced boiled eggs and some creamed potato mash on top.

Tonight is lamb steaks with dolphin potatoes and fresh spinach something I haven't thought of yet.

potatoes with your fish pie? :D

My lentil experiment seems to have gone ok, I'm not double up in pain today :hmm:

Tonight is hopefully pub food, maybe pie and mash

No. Seriously, I am having meatballs, but they look a bit fenky... :hmm:

I had frozen beef and pork mince, which I defrosted, then formed into meatballs, then froze again....and now I've just defrosted them again.. thats ok isnt it?

Isn't it? :hmm:

Not.ok.unless you cooked before refreezing

The internet seems to agree with you Bidders :( They were so nice last time as well. The fact that I (slightly) defrosted a bit of the pork mince in the mike last time, and I've got a fairly important gig on saturday should I get ill, well, it's not worth it is it.

Damn. Live and learn eh. Cheers peeps x

Just opened them and they smelled delicious, spices and garlic and stuff. But they didn't look pink and fresh. I threw them in the bin and now have to go to ASDA and buy all the stuff again.

Ho hum.

:(

Better safe than sorry (and believe me, you'd be very, very sorry)
