What's for tea tonight? (#8)

My lass made a big red pepper and tomato soup yesterday but me and the fella fancied Chinese, so we're having some tonight instead.

I'm not mad keen on it just being a soup though, not substantial enough for tea, so I'm gonna pour it over a load of conchiglie, and smother with some creamy Lancashire cheese
Oh no we're not - she's just eaten it all for her lunch :(

Right, fucking something else then. Pasta and bloody sauce or sommat

Haddock fishcakes (didn't have them the other night after filling up on leftover chinese and crisps etc :D ) for me and my boy and fishfingers for my girl, with some of the wedges left from yesterday and some oven chips to bulk it out, asparagus and tenderstem broccoli.
Raspberry yoghurt and nectarines for pudding.

Pork casserole with *roast potatoes.

Garlic, onion, leek, carrot, tomatoes with orgegano and coriander. Whole black pepper corns, olive oil. Pinch of salt. All in a single pot on high for 30 minutes, then simmered for an hour and a half after adding water and tomato frito. Covered with foil.

Delicious.

*in olive oil with water and lemon juice.

no, just explaining the reasoning for my assumption that you can't bring booze on a train

Why would they have invented those little cans of gin and tonic if it wasn't for train drinking? Those and/or train Stella must always be drunk on train journeys of distance  :D

I had chicken, lentil & spinach curry for dinner. It was tasty but the sauce could have done with being a bit thicker.

Stirfry - with a little too much emphasis on the "fry".
All posh ingredients - red onion, white cabbage, tomatoes, pointy pepper, huge amount of mushrooms... shoyu, tahini.. washed down with Aldi's finest Fleurie.

The sooner I get my salad sprouting going the better - it will have to warm up first - since I chuck them in raw at the end.

Thai-ish sort of chicken thing, lots of noodles and lemongrass and chilli and garlic and coriander and fish sauce and lime juice, then a tin of decidedly non-Thai tomatoes. Very fresh and zingy.

the train was too crowded to push the trolley through :(

tonight i am having a ribeye steak....dauphinoise potatos...and salad
that was fucking awesome, mainly cos i tried a new way of eating that i saw on masterchef. the way of eating everything at once. so this is what i've been missing all of these years! and it was me who thought everyone else was weird! i wonder what else i have been wrong about!
