What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I'm making Tom Yam soup tonight with chicken and veggies, served with buckwheat noodles. The longer I go without the sweet canteen food the more prepared I get to buy odd jars of things at the supermarket. I bought a jar of chilli tofu today, in wine. It was bad news, the tofu had gone kind of gooey and gluey and smelled of sick.

Yum QueenOfGoths, slow cooker gammon is one of my favourites :)

Roast lamb for us today, with roast pots & parsnips, cabbage, carrots and perhaps the last of the leeks from the garden if they're not too scabby.

We're having belly pork strips roasted with a 5-spice/szechuan pepper rub, steamed pak choi in oyster sauce and rice.
Aaaaand cream doughnuts for pudding... *rubs hands*

I'm also making two soups for work....spicy carrot and lentil and butternut squash, spinach and chilli (and I just found half a sachet of creamed coconut in the fridge, so reckon I'll stick that in too, even if it does make it slightly less healthy that way :D ).

Cottage pie. I think I might sweat some leeks in butter to mix with the mash (King Edwards, my favourite mashers). The mince has loads of onions and some celery in it. I have some kale I can cook as well.

Badgers just made me an epic bacon avocado, mayo and black pepper sarnie.
I was going to make leek and potato soup tonight but I don't really have the energy or inclination.
Maybe tomorrow :hmm:

Roast rib of beef with yorkshire puddings that went frilly round the edges, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, shallots and cauliflower cheese and gravy. Stuffed now :)

it was going to be a slow cooker cooked chicken, which was cooked on a bed of lemon, garlic, carrot & celery - some homemade ras en hanout type spice mix on the chicken too - amazing fall apart chicken, lots of great stock for the freezer too

shame we went to pizza express for lunch and ate so much we didn't need any tea

We just had veggie, mixed bean and chicken spicy stew with brown rice and peas and a cucumber salad. It was actually lovely. :)
