after last nights epic meat assault yes think I need something healthyish... maybe some homemade japanese style hot and spicy noodles soup... miso base, stew some ginger in the soup base for a bit add some sweet red peppers and other veggies and some nice thick sluggy udon... mmm
That's no good. Drunk cooking is far better if someone goes 'No, really, I made a great Elderberry Cassoulet once, honest, it's fucking amazing. I'm sure I can remember the recipe. I'm sure we can use Marmite instead of elderberries.'Something drunk people can cook without burning the house down. Mebbe salad.
All the meats! Chorizo, pork steak, pork ribs, chickens legs and thighs, lamb chops and steak... cooked on a charcoal grill, I thiink. It had been marinated in a spicy portugese sauce.
I was shaking when I got home and my heart was pounding. Never gotten off my face on meat before!
Cor blimey 'eck!
That sounds completely bloody marvellous. I will have to seek out such an emporium of scoff.
We went out for lunch (to a Beefeater! It was... not good).
So we decided to have a Supper this evening, rather than Dinner. I did chicken livers on toast - made a sauce with red wine, shallots, balsamic vinager, garlic, thyme and stock. With toasted poilane bread. Very nice.
Still eating this from last night. Tastes very good indeed but the green lentils and mushrooms (large flat ones) have combined to render the whole as a rather unappetising sludge colour, relieved only by the occasional glimpse of carrot.Just finished cooking what turned out not be a veg curry but dhal. Green lentils, onions, garlic, ginger, chillies, cumin, lemon thyme, chopped carrots, mushrooms, peas, cauli, potatoes left over from yesterday, coconut milk and a dollop of date & tamarind chutney thrown in for good measure. It tasted a bit 'thin' so I lobbed in a veg stock cube.
Sounds lush but I couldnt put chicken livers in my mouth... my mind wont let me
