What's for tea tonight? (#8)

A sort of cassoulet-ish thing. Herby sausages, black-eye beans, onion, garlic, celery, carrots, lemon thyme and some tomato juice (ran out of tinned). It will be thickened with some stale wholemeal bread and I've got potatoes to go with, but not in it (so that leftover spuds can go in a salad or be sautéed tomorrow).

I am having two of these tonight.

1/2lb of Dexter fillet beefburger with two rashes of smoked thick cut back bacon, 2 slices of full fat cheese, butter, mayonaise, fried onions (in beef dripping), tomatoes, lettuce, chilli sauce and a toasted bun.

I've got some ragu defrosting so tea will either be spag bol, pasta bake, or perhaps even lasagne if I cba

This was me....but I was WELL busy....aaaaaand cba  :D ( :( tbh!) ....so spag bol with mange tout.
Yoghurts and custard creams for pudding (for the kids....I'm having beer *hides from SOBER JANUARY thread* ).

Don't you hate it when your post is the last one on a page and everyone ignores it?

LOOK AT MY BURGER, SHEO! LOOK AT IT!

I had a tortilla wrap filled with a salad of cucumber, onion, sour cream, garlic and dill, with cubes of polenta and pepper coated deep fried salmon.
Pretty bloody good.

I had something based on this barley, chicken and mushroom risotto, but almost everything got swapped.

Chicken became turkey breast, shallots became red onion, Parmesan was mature Welsh Cheddar, chives were basil, and the mushrooms weren't wild...just chestnuts.

Served with some home-made wholemeal garlic bread and some rocket, spinach and watercress salad and balsamic vinegar.

Was pretty good, like.

Do it next time WITHOUT the bacon though and I'll be straight on the like button, defo! :D

Have to agree, bacon spoils the taste of burger and vice versa

Go on, you tantalising bugger; I can't be the only thicko here who wants to know what sort of a mixed grill deserves the adjective of Portuguese. Ooo!
What was in it? Did it have chops glazed in port? Onion rings doused in vinho verde? Or was it served with a mixed side order of barbecued Jose Mourinho?
I am a devoted fan of the mixed grill, so I am always eager to hear of any and all novel concepts in the genre for me to admire and desire.
Tell us! What's in it?
Errr. Por favor.*

* Yup, I know that sounds like Spanish, but I have been told by no lesser a person that a Brazilian architect on a drunken night in Berlin that por favor is most assuredly Portugeuse for please. So ner ner nah ner ner. :D

Boa noite. E obrigado.

All the meats! Chorizo, pork steak, pork ribs, chickens legs and thighs, lamb chops and steak... cooked on a charcoal grill, I thiink. It had been marinated in a spicy portugese sauce.

I was shaking when I got home and my heart was pounding. Never gotten off my face on meat before! :D

I didn't even know that was possible :D
