What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Unidentified bag of stuff out of the freezer. Turned out it was chicken soup with mushrooms, lentils, barley and split peas in it.
No idea when I made that, but I'll be making it again. Very nice.

Badgers cut up some little strips of crispy bacon and we had it on toast with St Agur melted :)

The last hurrah before months of lentils, rice and stock :(

We had baked spuds with cheese, beans and leftover curry - outstanding :)

Tonight we'll have a pasta dish of my daughter's invention. Mainly tagliatelle with a cream or creme freche sauce with mushrooms and cheese, but the omnivores will add leftover roast chicken and a strip of bacon which needs using up.

Veggie chilli with a bit of cheese on top, with brown rice. I might add some extra chilli to my portion as it's a bit mild for my liking.

Oh, and cucumber salad.

Was gonna make this at the weekend but too ill so tonight's the night for - ta daa!! - veggie cottage pie, get IN

Will use some of the marvellous mushroom ketchup in it, phwoar, and we'll have it with broccoli for the lass and kale for us, and tons of veggie gravy. Can't wait!

I'm going to celebrate a non-agonising-bladder by having 2 cans of guinness too! Tomorrow, I might even begin to drink coffee again! Yay

So is your daughter the vegetarian child of two meat-eaters?

Pasta shells and a vaguely bolognese sauce (mince, loads of onions, tomatoes, peppers, garlic, basil). Request of Very Tall Lodger (he got the choice of cottage pie or pasta).

i'm eating out tonight so something Italian (and probably disappointing), but at least I'm not cooking & I'm out for the evening. And I get to work from home tomorow so don't need to be up in the morning.

Complicated :), I was veggie for 23 years, as is her mum, but we're not together any more. My partner & our child eat meat, and now I do. My eldest tried meat when I stopped but didn't like it or the way animals are treated so went back to being veggie after a month. Quite a mature decision for a 7 year old as she was then

Ah yes, she sounds cool.

I made a cauliflower and chickpea curry and added various leftovers. Having it with fresh pasta as it needs using up.
