What's for tea tonight? (#8)

That's Christmas, not Easter! Didn't think Easter was a big deal anymore. How wrong I was. Went to Sainsbury's earlier and it was closed. Fucking god botherers spoiling my sausage purchasing!

It's a long weekend. What other excuse is needed?

Textbook yorkshires, sheo, FUCKING TEXTBOOK!!!!

Whereas MINE on the other hand where a massive failure  :D ....I didn't have any plain flour  but I'd already mixed the eggs and milk, so I experimented with SR flour :hmm: ........UH UH! *shakes head* :( :D

Tbf, they still tasted like yorkshires and the kids still ate them :D

So, there we go

Roast chicken with broc, beans, roast squash & taters and yorkies... Aunty bessies though... Deffo feels like crimbo. Happy jesus zombie day peoples x

Roast lamb here too but a massive cheats roast.

The lamb was tesco frozen lamb shanks, carrots, broccoli, roast spuds, aunt bessies yorkshires and asda garlicky stuffing.

In my defence, you couldn't make the lamb shanks for less than it cost to buy them ready marinated and they're really nice.

I've made yorkshires once and it was a fucking disaster. Also, we never have eggs in the house so it's cheaper and easier to buy them. I think mr s can make them but he never offers.

I do feel like a big fake though. : o

It did feel a bit like Christmas as it goes. It was nice.
It weirdly did, probably because I don't have massive roasts with family any other time, and also because we had turkey. It was an immense dinner... boned stuffed and rolled turkey, roasties, parsnips, broccoli, carrots and neeps, pigs in blankets, bread sauce and gravy

(then rhubarb crumble)

(then cheese and port)

I did roast lamb on Friday and today the ends of meat on the bone went into a large pan with onions, pearl barley, carrots, garlic, rosemary etc. Very nice.

I did garlic bread and pizza on my new pizza stone for the kids and we had butternut risotto which is probably my greatest food discovery ever. Bloody gorgeous.

Roast lamb with all the gubbins and four  pudding options - strawberry pavlova, sticky toffee pudding, profiteroles and tiramisu.

Way too much pudding really  I only had pavlova and a profiterole. I made the pavlova and it was LUSH.

Think Im gonna have a crack at profiteroles next time theres a family dinner, we always have profiteroles. They arent *that* difficult are they?

I made Lasagne tonight and had it over at my dad's  I'm going to make Bread Pudding and Cornish Pasties tomorrow.
