What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Spag Bol (sort of) by request. The sauce is beef mince, loads of garlic, a tin of plum tomatoes, a small tin of tomato puree, some chilli flakes, green, red and yellow bell peppers and loads of fresh basil.

My dinner was lovely thank you...it was a pre-festie affair. Avatar is from NYC and that's 'Panda Bear' (original I know). I don't where I found the lil fella but he did come from Macdonalds (not from me). I like to think that I set him free when I snipped the label off his bottom.

Can't go far wrong with those ingredients! Sounds lovely.

I tend to make things up as I go along according to what I have in the house. My son declared it my best yet and he's has 21 years of my spag bols which are never quite the same twice. He might just have said that because he'd been a complete arsehole from the moment he got out of bed and decided to make amends after a barbed comment from Very Tall Lodger

Notquitehoneyed (i used molasses instead) carrot soup with homedone croutons, and apple crumble with custard. Total win.

I had sort-of-spag bol too but with half beef, half pork mince and mushrooms not peppers.

The kids had veggie burgers last night cos we got back quite late, so will do them the spaghetti and tomato sauce tonight instead and I'll have more of my current standard courgette glut meal :D bulghur/king prawn/courgette/yellow pepper/mushroom etc

I also didn't pick the strawbs yesterday, so Eton Mess TODAY.

A chicken/porcini mushroom/cream/pasta bake thing with salad if I remember to buy salad. And mushrooms.

Well we ended up having roast field mushrooms and garlic and onyons with pesto pasta last night, as caught up in watching chap's band dvd, and drinking. Tonight we're packing for Solfest but he'll hopefully have done most of the big stuff, so won't take long to shove me long johns and knickers in a bag. So errm, maybe cheese and spring onion omelettes and chups then.

CHANGE OF PLAN!

I've got to take 4 children swimming tomorrow and will prob be back quite late, so will do my speedy bulghur jobby then, so NOW I'm using the rest of the blended tomato/courgette sauce I made this morning to do a Melanzane parmigiana.

Not quite sure what to have with it. :hmm: Chips and salad? :D Broccoli, maybe. :p

Kids are still having spaghetti with tomato sauce.

My son's going to try the aubergine - and I reckon he'll like it  - daughter probably won't though (try it OR, if she does, LIKE it).

Sweet chilli prawn stir fry with mange tout, tenderstem broc, orange pepper, red onion and baby sweetcorn on some noodles.
Pudding is a massive hunk of left over (dads) birthday cake which is chocolate sponge with cream and raspberries.

Steak Sandwich - Rump steak is half price at the Co-op at the moment, so a seriously large one was £2.50. I thought it would probably be pretty poor quality, but one of the tastiest I have had in months.

I had apple pie and custard, courtesy of my Mum, who is doing her level best to get through a forest of apples from a neighbour. It's pretty nice to have a Mum who'll make a batch of apple pies then deliver two to your place of work for you. I only managed to get one home, mind, seeing as the other gannets in my office pounced on me as I walked back in.
Can't say I blame them - the smell was incredible. :D
