What's for tea tonight? (#8)

We had kids dinner-chicken kiev, chips and beans.

About to have the last of the strawberries and cream. That sainsburys madagascan vanilla cream is bloody amazing.

I did semi-convenience food. Steak pies (not bad, Sainsburys, pack of four on special offer) plus I made some carrot and spud mash, and fried (in butter) tomatoes mushrooms and courgettes. The lads liked it which is all I really strive for. It keeps 'em quiet..

OMG it SO SO IS!!!  :D

We bought some a while back cos it was on offer - I swear I could've eaten it all straight from the pot (and in fact I did have sly spoonfuls from time to time ' :hmm: ' :D )!

I'm taking the kids and a friend of my daughters swimming this arvo so will get them all a big portion of CHIPS after and hope that that does em other than maybe a ham sandwich or something later. :D
I'll be having the bulghur/prawn/courgette etc that I didn't have yesterday.
Kids are going to their dads this evening, so I might even get myself a cream cake for later.

Tofu, chillies and greens.
Beef and hot/ sour mustard.

Do you think it'd work on a banoffee pie or be too much? :hmm:

The cream.

Well we had it with those lemon frangipane muffins I made a while back and it went PERFECTLY with that...the only thing is that it IS sweetened so yeah, maybe on a banoffee pie where you already have the very sweet caramel, plain cream would be better?

Although obviously you should buy some anyway and make/buy SOMETHING ELSE to go with it. :D

Yeh, plain cream with a splash of rum ;)

I know that is the right thing to do sheo, but I just can't :( although, maybe I could get some for picnic apple cake on Sunday/Monday? :hmm:

Yeah I have MASSIVE problems with it too! :D

And necessary - ALWAYS start with 2 c's and 2 s's....then go for 2 c's and 1 s  ...then FINALLY get it right...it just WON'T STAY IN!

last night crustyboy 'cooked' - it was gnocchi with veg and pesto :D - delicious it was...

tonight we're going swimming by a lake so I'm going to attempt to make tofu vietnamese summer rolls for a picnic.

Mainly wine. Possibly pizza (massively reduced shop bought pizza express stylee). meant to buy garlic and a baguette but bought lots of wine instead. Oops.

Bloody nora, you've made tofu look nice! I was veggie for 15 years, but never understood tofu. It didn't look like yours!

Tonight, I shall be having, again, as I have every night this week - chilli. I swear the vat keeps refilling itself. Just how much of the fecking stuff did I make?
