What's for tea tonight? (#8)

ok, a tiny bit, but really not loads honest....

crush biscuits, mix with melted butter - squish into dish/tin
mix condensed milk with lime juice and a couple egg yokes - pour on top of biscuits and bake for a bit
whip some cream, with a bit of rum in it, then bung on top of the pie

ta-dah

Sainsburys are doing a special on Gu and 2 lil key limes pies are yours in a glass ramekin (for when you make your own) for a bargain £2. Not suitable for veggies though.

No Sainsburys round here! Ta though. Think I'll make me own if it really is that easy.

Last nights tea was a roaring success so tonight am using the other half of the bamboo shoots/water chestnuts/button mushrooms/peppers, and doing the lot with quorn steak strips in a black bean sauce, with NOODIES! :D
 
think I half followed the waitrose recipe last time, mixing up gingernuts and digestives, and not bothering with the fancy topping (i never decorate cakes :D).

But the recipe I posted for gem looks even bloody easier, so might try that next time :cool:

Not jealous, no not at all, me? never :D (let us know how it turns out - can only taste good with those ingredients tbf!).

Dunno about tea tonight, I forgot to take chicken out the freezer, meant to be going to a gig after work, but have to work late, feel like crap, so I might crack open my damson gin and have a pink G&T :)

:D I will let you know how it goes, deffo. I was gonna make it tomorrow but that seems daft when we can have half tonight and then half tomorrow :D And I NEED to eat it!

What gig you meant to be going? Ooo damson gin. I love sloe gin. Can't stand gin with nowt in it, vile stuff, but with fruit in it's lovely
 
...seeing as it's so easy (;)) makes sense to do it tonight.

The Hamsters (?). Tonight is going to be my tester, and if it all tastes good then I'll bottle up tomorrow :)
 
We got back from camping yesterday, baking hot, knackered and ILL :mad: (luckily the ill bit didn't really set in till last night, thank fuck!) so got a chinese.
Kids are going back again tonight with their dad and the boy's bezzer, so I'll have leftover chinese, although I'm feeling anything but hungry at the mo! :facepalm:
 
Headache/sore throat/aching like FUCK all over (although that might be down to hoiking a massive heavy rucksack and the cool bag stuffed full of food from the bus stop to the site and back again :hmm: :D ).
Am just glad it didn;t get me while I was still there!
My son's escaped it so far but daughter is down with it too but is still very insistent that she wants to go back (although having asked her what, specifically, feels wrong with her she just said 'My voice sounds deep'! :D ).
Hoping it'll clear up over the weekend cos it's my son's birthday Monday, then my mum's down on Tuesday then we're back to the farm for more camping on Weds!

Am going to do the only sensible thing and spend the next two days in bed. :D
 
That sounds exactly what all my lot have just had down here, sheo. Started off as a sore throat and then ended up with fluey symptoms. The voice thing is something else. General consensus of opinion was it made me sound like Leonard Cohen. I had a fucking job interview right in the middle of it too.

Sole Meunière with potatoes and possibly peas. Then I may treat myself to some cheese as a bath bun and fudge has already done the diet for today!!

I'm gonna do the no egg version for a BBQ I'm going to tomorrow so my preggers mate can eat it. Cheers missus :cool:
 
Hope it works ok, that's three of you doing it now :D if it does I might make one in a couple weeks time for a bbq :)
 
Just cooking a whole wokful of chicken curry right now; an 'empty the fridge of everything' one. Cauli, carrots, broccoli and allsorts in there along with the normal spices and the chicken. Doing proper pilau rice to have with it.
