What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Got back late and not really wanting a full meal so defrosted a home made burger bun and the last of the Christmas nut roast. Bit of mayo, bit of mango chutney, delicious.

I'm going to make bolognese sauces this afternoon - meat for me, quorn and veggies version for OH. Will last 2 nights for me and 2 mornings for OH.

Not sure what pasta to have with it yet, I think I have some bucatini which OH isn't keen on (is it the marmite of pastas?) but I love it so it's a good idea for a solo meal. He likes tagliatelle or spaghetti with his, I know we have just enough tagliatelle for 1 large portion so that would work well for him to have with his sauce in the morning.

Ha! I was thinking veggie sausage tray bake but settled on hot diggity dogs with onions, ketchup & mouseturd.

Traybake tomorrow or sausage & mash.

Having wondered about you lot's traybakes, I finally made my own. Carrots, spuds, tender stem broccoli, plum tomatoes, garlic, veggie sausages. Was very nice!
The whole traybake thing saved me a lot of work cooking (and washing up time for OH who does most of that) the last couple of days and went down really well with both of us. Will definitely do it again in future. OH particularly wants fish as part of his which is usually quite short cooking time but it's easy enough to pop a fish fillet on the top for the last 15 mins of cooking.

Is it too early to be thinking about tonight's tea?

Well I am doing because I am being treated to dinner here

Great British Menu chef and everything.

And am really looking forward to it. I'm thinking something Thai-y and spicy with one of today's fish in it somewhere.
One of our fav places in London to eat is Pizarro on Bermondsey St. Occasionally Jose Pizarro cooks there, it's an open kitchen and you can actually get seats as if sitting at a bar, overlooking the kitchen, it's great seeing a chef like him in action and preparing your food.

Enjoy your evening.
