What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Thanks to fella toing and froing and fucking up planned meals (!), I'm gonna have some of this tonight with brown rice.

How do you do your cauli? Put any spices with it?

The other night I did it with turmeric, salt and pepper.

Tonight we've got roast rib of beef,Yorkshire puds, roast potatoes, carrots, green beans, broccoli, horseradish and gravy.
I owed Badgers a roast dinner, he was going to swap it for a cocktail shaker set, so this one's for him.

Spinach and pine nut balls in a wrap with humous and aubergine dip. I’ve also made a loaf cake with apple, a can of summer fruits and lots of sugar and cinnamon. Don’t know if it’s turned out OK. Don’t care. It’s cake.

I did it with cumin, coriander, turmeric, chipotle flakes and salt. Gorgeous, thank you. Will be doing both again.

I didn't have any of the curry I had no appetite. So after a massive gin and juice, loads of crisps, a bit of cheese and some chocolate. D said that the dinner was really good mind, so I will try it again another time.

Ended up eating just a veggie burger in a bun due to a combination of not being very hungry and general CBA around cooking.

Yep my mini-roast hasn't happened because I wasn't hungry and didn't fancy cooking.

I swear this "planning a meal then losing interest/getting distracted before cooking it" could be the latest diet fad.

I think my body sometimes sends me confused signals about hunger, sometimes I skip a meal because I don't feel hungry, other times I eat well and feel ravenous again an hour later (almost like when you are on steroids and feel completely empty and eating should fix it but doesn't).

Not hungry at the moment. Mini-roast on hold for now. Can always freeze the chicken thighs.

Second half of the killer dhal, will probably do some rice with it, and have remembered there are some mini samosas in the freezer I bought as the beginning of a campaign of exploring the "world foods" section of Sainsburys freezers.

Side order of regret that Badgers isn't here to comment on everyone's potato choices.

Jacket potatoes cheese then.... coleslaw.
The menfolk will probably have cheese/beans/cheese

Whenever you say "the menfolk" I imagine you all living in some sort of period setting Little House on the Prairie type setup, with burly men coming in from the fields and the women in pinafores getting tea ready for them - sorry, the image just jumps unbidden into my head :D

(Not a criticism or anything, I just find it amusing :D )

Just bought a kilo of fresh cockles ( picked this afternoon) for 5 euros from my pal Jorge in the bar . He gives you a bag of sea water to put in a bowl so they clean themselves out over night . So that tomorrow’s tea or lunch sorted .

M&S cottage pie and greens. Am in london for work and staying in our house which is on the market and has almost no cooking stuff left in it. Gonna be a lot of M&S and takeaway and eating out over the next two weeks.

Himself had eggs on tomato sauce and crusty bread, small one asked for cheesy mash and peas and immediately regretted her choice and demanded, I make it NOT cheesy, I gave up and have her a rocket lolly👍. I had a jacket spud, but honestly I couldn't eat it, it was tuna, sweetcorn and some garlic cheese mixed together. The empty chair vibe is strong innit. ☹️
