What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Lamb chops, new potatoes, mushrooms some very burnt roasted veg (peppers etc). : ( I put the oven on full blast for some stupid reason.

Roast chicken, vegetables and salad. Dinner took so long so I couldnt eat the roasted potatoes because it wont digest this late. I'm being ungrateful though cos it was very nice innit and even better cos I didnt cook it :)

Halfway through first day back at work, stress levels are pre-holiday already, and body is beginning to ask for comfort food, so it's looking like mozzarella cheeseburgers, chips and salad, and a fuckton of wine

I'm making a chilli con carne with all sorts of different beans. It's definitely a four-bean chilli but could possibly be five. I've just slung the lot in. Made a proper buttery pilau rice last night for my curry so polishing that off with it too.

Invisibleplanet: do you have a recipe for the put lentil Dahl?

Tonight we had kievs with carrots and Charlotte Potatoes what I did grow :D

On Sunday we had a lovely pork loin and mushroom stroganoff (the mush strog was ready made in a tub from the tramps buffet for 60p!)

On Friday I made a "chicken pilau" but with out the ginger, garlic, curry leaves and american long grain rice not basmati so it ended up more like a spicy chicken paella :D

2 pieces of shortbread, a glass of milk and a cheese string. i want a large glass of wine but due to spending 4 hours in a+e this afternoon with a head injury, thats rather out of the question

It's a (busy) Tuesday. Hardly finished breakfast and you expect me to know what'll be for tea?

Probably the mince which didn't get cooked yesterday and something.

Hope your head's all better soon feyr (am assuming it's another work related injury :( )! xxxx

@ Boatie - Right, rapini. Well it was shit on day one. The stuff about being able to eat the flowers is all very well except that by the time it's flowered the rest of it is dead tough and stringy!
I'd picked all the flowering ones for Sunday so resolved to have more yesterday to see what it was like before it had flowered. Went out and a whole lot more had fucking flowered. :D
So instead I picked off the leaves/heads and only kept the very thinnest stems and I'd say we're *getting there* now. Am hoping to find some today that HAS NOT FLOWERED, but generally it's clearly obviously better to pick them younger. Taste wise it just made me think *GREENS* iykwim! :hmm: Will update you when I've actually tried some that's a bit more *as it should be* though!

So last night I had RAPINI and a whole load of other bits of veg in a thai chicken noodle soup, kids had chicken nuggets, chips and broccoli. NO PUDDING (OMG!)!

I might have the same tonight and do something else for the kids, or might do something else altogether. Need to have a think.....

Mmm, am thinking a nice big fat cheese and mushroom omelette, with green and tom salad, and perhaps a wholegrain roll to go with it

Chinese take-away last night after a festival diet for the previous 4 days. We had a mixed started of prawn toast, Peking ribs, something elses ribs, seaweed, spring rolls, then I had crispy duck - bloody lovely.

Tonight got some bolognese sauce out of the freezer to have with spaghetti.

*crosses rapini off the 'things to grow next year' list*

Don't know what to have for tea tonight, I'm meeting a friend for a quick drink on the way home so maybe crisps in the pub and toast when I get home.

Thanks for the update sheo

Ey, ey, ey...hold your horses, missus! Reserve judgment till I finally manage to eat some that's young and tender instead of woody. It won't be today either cos I've just been down and........more flowers!
Looks like I'm probably not going to be able to eat this lot fast enough to catch some which haven;t flowered, but I've got another lot coming now too....so will defo give it a bash earlier and THEN let you know! Am feeling a *little* bit sad not to have any psb coming next year now, mind you :( but it really does eat into my space, too....*sigh*

Am defo going to have the noodle soup again - and kids have probably got mini pizza's with extra cheese and steamed, buttered courgettes. Bit of an odd one. :D Cornettos for pudding for them and an almond finger to go with a cup of tea for me.

OK, I will wait for further rapini updates before I make my final judgement :D

The tea-time abomination of chips & broccoli sadly continues....:( I myself will be at work so I will heat up my portion of last nights veggie enchilda. I also have a salad and a little amount of half fat sour cream.
