Veal Milanese with spaghetti and tomatoes. Not something we’d normally cook but it’s the first anniversary of my FILs death after a short but brutal cancer diagnosis and it was one of his favourites so seems appropriate. Accompanied with a really nice bottle of red. Loved that man

Early tea of fried eggs on toast before OH leaves for work.

His were cooked perfectly but my eggs were a little overcooked because when I brought his in for him, the cats started wailing cos I'd forgotten to give them their tea at the appointed time and I wouldn't get any peace if I sat down with fried eggs while they were hungry! So I left mine in the pan while I fed them.

They were still nice though!

Sadly I can no longer eat beans so the whole debate is rendered moot for me. Also the boy will not countenance beans because texture/sauce/beans. So we usually end up with four slightly different plates of spud.

I had the other half of last night's dinner at lunch time. Lunch mostly disappeared during lockdown but has reasserted itself quite forcefully now.
