What's for tea tonight? (#8)

A home alone dinner of Puy lentils (a pouch of precooked ones with sundried tomatoes) with a bit of white fish and some broccoli and soya beans.

ice cream for pudding :)

have just made a stew with butterbeans, black eye peas, cashew nuts, onion, garlic, two cans tomato, chorizo, red lentils and chilli flakes. Served with couscous and soft apricots, a little sesame oil and flaked almonds. Sour cream and cheddar on top. This tastes so good, am on my second portion

I seem to be working my way towards Thai fishcakes.

Bought a stack of cans of pink salmon and I use generic instant mash.
Perhaps when I get the recipe right I'll use fresh.

Tonight's had just a splash of fish sauce - certainly added something to it - went with mango chutney and a bit of Grey Poupon ...

I used the rest of the pork belly to do a slow cooked chinese style thing with spring onions and mushrooms, which I've put back in the fridge over night so that I can remove some of the fat. I'll stick it back in the slow cooker later along with some carrot strips and we'll have it with rice and broccoli. They had almond fingers for pudding last night in the end, so creme caramels for today!

Beef stir fry. I cut a big lump off the beef we had on sunday and wrapped it in foil. Hope it's still ok :hmm:

Ummm...dunno yet! Got loathsome ironing to do and yet more fucking laundry to sort, so probably a quick easy tea of poached eggs on beans on toast

I'm sort of addicted to dhaal though. Other things bore me after a couple of times though.

We are too. We have lots of different lentils and beans here, and it's got worse since my hindi neighbour moved in as she also prefers to buy wholesale heaps of dried beans, pulses, rice and flour :)

Don't know. Should go to gym and then make quick pasta dish, but just can't be bothered. With anything.

Have you made the potato lasagne? It takes ages but it's porn on a plate.

No I have not - but I've made a mental note for the next time I feel like lasagne.

The mushroom one of his I cooked yesterday was a lush cheese fest - hard to go wrong with 5 cheeses in one dish. I'm doing some extra sport today to try to deal with the calorie credit.

I've tried this Potato 'Suprise tatin' from Ottolenghi. I especially enjoyed making (and eating) the caramel part of it.

Tonight it's jacket potato with hummus - no more cheese!

Got some home-made tofu from mum-in-law.
Dunno what to do with it as i want to make something different.

maybe gonna deep fry it and see what happens.

Definitely can't be arsed. :( I'm going to try and fashion some kind of soup out of broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, noodles and a stock cube.
