What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Hmmm...am considering baby spuds drizzled in home-made pesto, with a goats cheese and tomato salad, plus a green salad

Or maybe just easy-peasy couscous with the goats cheese etc salad, save the home-made pesto for another time. I WILL make it, goddammit

cheung fun.
those little glutinous rice packages.

nothing too difficult - just steam for 20 odd minutes or so...

it's gonna be a tofu and veg stir fry for me too tonight! am too lazy to go to the shops... it will feature cabbage quite heavily :) also carrots.

Something with Jersey Royals as I have some left over from yesterday. I'm thinking of sautéing some mushrooms, green beans and pancetta in garlic and then sautéing the tatties in garlic and rosemary.

If you're feeling really decadent, break them up a little and add a little butter and cream to the pan just as you are finishing them up. Toss them well and it's a taste sensation :D

Ah

I, err, completely fucking forgot about this when I went out to the shops  Not that I'm old and senile or anything, like.

Bollocks.

AND they didn't have any cunting goats cheese  Am having a fried halloumi salad now. REALLY wanted goats cheese.

Crap weekend - leak from upstairs flat has flooded our bedroom, everything still soaked, leak not fixed, Mrs R's cold turned into near pneumonia, so it's been comfort food all the way.

Sunday night we had roast lamb rump steaks with all the trimmings.

Yesterday's lunch was potato, herb and blue cheese frittata with salad. Tea was chilli and coriander sausage, salami, tomato and lentil stew.

Nothing like a day of Nigel Slater recipes to sort you out. Not too complicated, very warming and just reading a few pages of his Kitchen Diaries is enough of a reminder that not everything in the world has gone wrong.

Tonight will be a quick pasta dish, maybe conchigliette al fredo.

Cheers, we hope so too. Sleeping on a lumpy futon's killing us, no wonder our guests complain about it, poor sods :)

I have a freezer full of delicious homemade goats cheese. Hope that helps :)

Had my curry and rice at lunch time and really wasn't feeling like eating after that (I'm ILL! ((((( me :( ))))) :D )....buuuuut, my yesterday my ex brought round a couple of sea bass fillets from the haul he caught on Friday, which I'd assumed would still be frozen but in fact he'd taken it out the night before, so I had to eat that today, too

So did it in the *lightest* way I could think of and just had the fillets baked in foil with strips/slices of carrot, spring onion, ginger and garlic and mushrooms and a bit of soy/lime juice/rice wine/sesame oil poured in before I sealed it all up...and in fact it was very manageable.

The girl had a mini cheese and ham pizza with salad and (her new favourite!) home made thousand island dressing for dipping her salady bits into.

Chicken, leeks and mushrooms with a creamy lemon sauce with pasta. Some leaves on the side too. Maybe garlic bread too...

Some wierd round courgette stuffed with a mixture of rice, broccolli, carrot, onion, garlic and tomato chutney plus salad. Surprisingly tasty.

Veggie chilli. I've cooked this so much of late I'm now incredibly bored of it. :( I need to find some new recipes.

i thought i was on the anagram thread there for a moment. no idea at all about our tea, prolly get them to forage for themselves.

Whatever's around - red kidney beans, garlic, ginger, chilli sauce, pimenton, turkey strips, peppers, celery, mixed veg from the freezer...

Well, happy occasion, that looks lush! I've only made a couple of Ottolenghi's recipes both a faff, but worth the effort :)

If you like his stuff consider buying his book 'Plenty'. Lots of the recepies have already been published though. He's got quite a few recepies which are less of a faf.
