The other two (quite small tbf) baked potatoes I did last night with the chilli that I was meant to have last night but only remembered to get out of the freezer today
Homemade BNS soup and homemade bread. My soups are really hit and miss at the moment. This one has just escaped being a miss by the addition of lots of smoked paprika and whatnot but it's not really a hit either. The bread is delicious as always. Even if I utterly screw it up - like today it threw itself on the floor shortly before I baked it - it's still great.
Pearl barley risotto with leeks and courgette, salad (iceberg, which I wouldn't generally touch with a barge pole, but it provided a nice crunchy texture and welcome freshness) and bread (I might have mentioned the epic neverending loaf..., literally the best £4 I have ever spent) with garlic butter.
We had some eggs that were nearing the end of their shelf life and a big bag of nice spuds, so I made tortilla and a tomato & olive salad with a balsamic vinaigrette
I had red cabbage and lentil sprouts that needed eating and had tidied-up my kitchen area, so it was the first stir-fry since last summer. The wok needed emery cloth to shift the rust.
In spite of red cabbage, red onions and shredded carrots, it's somewhat lacking in the "red" department because the supermarket had no peppers and I didn't think to buy tomatoes.
Tesco's finest paella c/o the tramps buffet. It wasn't that fine tbh, but I wanted something easy for tea cause I'm making an Alsatian Rhubarb Tart for dessert (currently in the oven, pics later if it's nice)
There seems to be an endless supply of complimentary food for NHS staff atm. Tuesday's and Thursday's there is a company selling half priced pizza. They have a pizza oven set up in the staff car park. On other days we get hog roast or vegan meatball baps.
Tonight I had a margherita pizza £3.50 and I've just cracked a beer open.
Oh yes. Tagliatelle with wild garlic pesto and a really delicious mixed green salad from my favourite veg stall which has reappeared in a different format. Satsuma for pud.
