Phwoar

Bought a boned pork joint wrapped in bacon from the butchers only saw it when I'ordered everything else so didnt pay much attention. It's enough for four or five however when I unpacked it and looked at the receipt it was 7 euros 80 which I thought was about 2 euros more expensive than I would have expected. Was cooking it and cut a bit off the end to taste and found a bit of black pudding. I cut the string mesh off and its actually stuffed with black pudding , fruit , a slice of presunto and a slice of turkey breast.

Roast chicken for me, tuna steak for him, roast spuds, courgette, I think the cauli in the fridge is still good, yorkshire pudding (froze some from our last batch, still no plain flour anywhere) EDIT: OH I got some reduced to clear runner beans yesterday, will thinly slice and either steam or sautée them - had forgotten about them!

I might see if I can find the frozen parboiled parsnips and swede that are somewhere in the freezer which is currently rammed - I've learned my lesson about not keeping much food in stock and have been buying stuff to store every time I shop now that the supermarket shelves are mostly full again.

I just had a go at making pesto, but it was only so-so.

The cheese was old and would not grate, even the food processor gave up on it. I put loads of basil in but it wasn't enough. Good oil and pine nuts, but exposed by the cheese.

I give me 3 out of 10.
