What's for tea tonight? (#8)

From boiling in the stock pot to carved on the plate with mash, veggies and parsley sauce.
It was sooo yummy :)

Lamb was disappointing. It was cooked beautifully, moist, fell off the bone, but couldn't taste the flavours in the glaze/marinade - they were all masked by lemon... far too much lemon juice in the recipe imo. I doubled the amount of garlic, but couldn't taste it, or the cumin or the pomegranate molasses :(

But, there's loads left for shawarmas tomorrow :)

They plates would not have been my first choice but they were reduced to £2 each in Morleys and they fit in our very limited cupboard space.

:( oh noes.
But yes I bet left overs will be yummy :)

Zomg! mine were from north london morleys equivalent. also reduced. :hmm: They don't fit my cupboard though, they fit my vision of my life.

Well, the lamb didn't taste of lemon, it was all in the juices, but I still wanted a really delicious sauce. The boy was very happy though, and tomorrow will be better... tender lamb all wrapped up with tahini

If it's me cooking, then we're having mushroom and cheese frittata with chups and salad.

If it's the guests cooking, we're having some kind of dhal, mushroom masala, and chapatis.

Happy either way

I had a yorkshire pudding triumph last night. I don't have a suitable baking tray thingy of the correct size (either for individual ones or a large one - I used to have one that was ideal but fuck knows where it has gone!) and my oven is old and a bit temperamental - I used my fairy cake tray to make mini ones and took a bit of a guess as to how long they had to be in the oven (9 minutes, as it turns out!) - very pleased with the result.

Chorizo stew. Small girl's having a lentil shepherds pie thing because I don't know if she's ok with spices etc yet.

I had a veggie bolagnese (sp?) from my freezer portions at work with fusili pasta with extra jalopeno peppers from a jar. Infact I have eaten a whole jar of jalopeno peppers in the past 24hrs.

Cottage pie - trying not to think about the fact that the cat might have messed with it whilst I was in the bath.

WOWZERS, moonsi! :D

I had to do a big lunch - chicken goujons, oven chips and asparagus - for the kids before they got the train up to Worcester with their dad, and I had some too, so have just had fried oyster mushrooms on toast for my dinner.

Melon later.

And crisps, obv :-/
