What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I wanted to do a 'quick courgette lasagne' recipe which I found but there is no ricotta cheese to be found locally so we'll have asparagus and gnocchi is creamy herb sauce instead.

i realised i have no chicken and no peppers so i'm sticking with the spargus. i have blue cheese, i wonder if i could involve that somehow :hmm:

Or blobs of blue cheese in between the asparagus and the pancetta before they're roasted?!

Tesco didn't have the specific bag of jersey royals I ordered - but then didn't substitute either  - I LOL'd with the delivery man about the shopper wandering aroung pondering on what they could possibly replace it with and then deciding that NOTHING was defo the least risky solution... :D

Anyway, not fussed for tonight cos I'm *ALMOST* too hot to eat anyway  so duck and veg will do just fine. Gonna have some melon and some STRAWBS FROM THE GARDEN later, too!

I am taking advantage of the fact that the kids aren't here* and having a duck breast ? with a few jersey royals and a massive pile of veg

*I am not permitted to eat it when they're here cos my son LOVES DUCKS (and he's roped his sister into the cause) and EATING them is BAD  .....although anything else goes. :hmm: Oh, apart from Easter when there was also a temporary ( ) ban on LITTLE BABY LAMBS. :( *tch*

Tomatoes on the vine with lemon seasoning / Bolands cream crackers / elderflower cordial

Various BBQ things i.e sausages, chops and chicken wings (though due to timings, football and Dr Who they will be done in the oven rather than on the BBQ!) plus potato salad and followed by rhubarb and custard cake (currently in the oven!)

... asparagus wrapped in pancetta and baked in the oven ...

make it into a dippy sauce for the aspergers?

well that was fuckin lush :D melted the cheese together with some cream for the sauce and it was perfect. i can only have these kind of things when the kids are away now my mum's introduced kid2 to parma ham  up til now i've managed to pass it off as grownups' food that you definitely wouldn't like :hmm:

We had lamb sausages, courgettes in minted yoghurt, and a tomato, radish and spring onion salad.

Not only was it fucking lush, but everything except the lamb, yoghurt and tomatoes was out of our window boxes :)

For pud we have dark chocolate and strawberries (which we grew as well). Win

I can appreciate you dont grow lambs in your window box, but i'm impressed that you grow dark chocolate

I should clarify - when I said 'anything else goes' - I didn't mean '....with ducks' - OMG! The implication! :( No, I meant 'any other animals'....does that help, rors? :D

Oh and eat a proper fucking dinner would ya....always with the tomatoes and the FUCKING organic peppers....

Kids are back today - going to do Thai spiced steak mince with a bit of rice, all wrapped up in lettuce leaves. Unless their nanny has packed her usual massive pile of sandwiches for the train, in which case they'll be too full to eat till tomorrow, lol.

Not sure yet, have defrosted some pork mince, so with either be pork and chorizo burgers, pork meatballs with spaghetti, pork soy noodles or something else.

Spicy roast shoulder of lamb with red onion and feta roast potatoes and courgette ribbons.
Butterscotch angel delight with raspberries for pud :D

i'm gonna have a fryup for lunch so prolly just bread/cheese for tea. i'll cook something sausagey/pastay for the rest of them when they get back.

Burgers with a sweet chilli and cheese melt. No tried them before, thought they sounded pretty good. Chips with them.

I would like spag bol or lasagne but neither of us can be arsed to cook.

We have some thin steak so that with chips and mushrooms. Probably in baguettes.

The steak that is, not the chips.

The gnocchi was lovely and I've found some ricotta so we can have the lasagnes on Monday night.
