What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I had a packet of TUC biscuits (which I've only just noticed shares an acronym with the Trade Unions Council) and a pack of bernard matthews tikka chicken chunks to accompany. The TUC's were those ones with cheese fondant in the middle like a savoury custard cream. It wasn't the prince of meals but it was nice. Just couldn't be arsed to cook better and mum didn't make nothing because she's screwing about seeing ATOS tomorow and can't cook or do much except cry. Shared my Tucs though.

Normal food service will be resumed soon though, either by me or her.

Went for a mushroom dosa at the lovely Gurkha Dining, and they've changed the bloody dish. Instead of the perfectly balanced coconut sambar, coriander and chilli chutney and tarka dhal, it came with a wishy-washy coconut thing and 2 indeterminate brown dishes.

Saturday - BBQ'd jerk chicken, sausages, haloumi, veg kebabs & potato salad.
Sunday - macaroni cheese with bacon.
Tonight - fish fingers, mash and peas.

well we have lots of "produce" (i.e. seth grew it) in the fridge wot's gonna go off if we don't use it soon. i think we have corn, kale, purple beans and courgette. maybe some kind of pasta bake? i think so

Big bowl of baby leaf salad with chopped up sausages and bacon and a dressing made from quark and damson wine vinegar..banana custard for pudding.

Fudge brownie milkshake.

Mixed nuts.

Maybe a coffee or something since my coach is running almost two hours late.

Chicken, spinach and roast veg couscous.

Have people coming over (including vegetarian and kids),so its a spread of steak and mashed potato, spinach, avocado and tomato salad, smoked trout, artichokes, tomato bread, fish stew leftovers (for me and the veggie), Spanish cheeses (lots of the cold cuts are from Lidl's Iberian range) and chocolate and orange ganache cake (not from Lidl) for dessert. I wont eat too much cos i'm off to Yorkshire tomorrow where i'll be enjoying the culinary delights of Gods own country *drools*

I'm going to have a pint of tea and a lemon yoghurt in bed. I've got tonsillitis and stuck in horrible traffic coming back from Somerset, my bed is calling me!

I see....there's some really great ones in South London though to be fair. And often you can get two dinners worth from ordering one.
I'm not a big fan of takeout curry or Chinese or pizza, esp if I have to shell out a tenner for it. My average meal cost £2. That's a lot over the odds to justify having more than once in a blue moon, esp if I don't really like it that much.

can of ratatouille - 179kcals
bag of microwave puy lentils - 360kcals
5g of flaxseed powder
tahini

unsweetened soy yoghurt and muesli.

A fair old number of calories, but relatively low carb in proportion to protein and fibre :hmm:
But the diet is on course, so no need yet for starvation.

Tonight - fish fingers, mash and peas.

Found a tin of mushy peas in the cupboard that went out of date in 2012. Slightly grey but didn't die. Frozen peas for the rest of them.

Tonight is leftover macaroni cheese and loads of veg.

Tried to give it loads in the kitchen last night, ended up making chorizo in a port, plum and chocolate sauce served over homemade bacon and chive hash browns. I appreciate the poor presentation but I was hungry :D

In hindsight it was very rich and would have been much better suited to a starter of a single hash brown and a few chorizo slices rather than this main course sized plate. Still very nice though.

I can't work out if I find this brilliant or horrifying. :hmm:

A good thing I got my new beanslicer today.
"Lady Di" is enjoying the cool, wet weather - unlike last year when she wilted in the heat and dropped all her flowers...
