What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Tonight its roast chicken (only 3 euros in Lidl!!!) It's good chicken too, have had it before. I've prepared it by rubbing butter under its skin and putting lemon, garlic and rosemary inside the cavity and placed it over a bed of chopped carrots, celery, onion and garlic, the veg will be used later to make gravy. Drizzled a little olive oil on the skin and seasoned with sea salt and black pepper. Will serve with parsley mash, green veg and homemade gravy.

Never tried pho, had to ask Mrs R what it was the other day. Sounds right up my street, I don't know how I've never had it but I want it.
Whatever you do, do not try it for the first time at the restaurant chain called Pho as it's like fucking dishwater.
Someone should report them to the Vietnamese government for bringing their national dish into disrepute.

Had to google that. Sounds ace. I had the last of the chicken casserole which just got nicer and nicer as the week went on and all the flavours blended. Afterwards I had a couple of peaches and a few dates.

This was me using up the last of the huge amount I bought in Lidl. It's ok but not that great, should really make the effort to go to one of the Polish shops in the next towns over. The chilli one I got was good for cooking with though.

it's fish n chip friday here at the british museum. meaning soggy chips, chewy batter, dry fish and peas that look like regurgitated snot for lunch
