"Two years ago, we got a call from a United States government official warning us of the imminent arrest of a New York Times reporter based in Egypt named Declan Walsh," Sulzberger said.
While these heads-ups are "actually fairly standard," this particular call "took a surprising and distressing turn," Sulzberger said. "We learned the official was passing along this warning without the knowledge or permission of the Trump administration. Rather than trying to stop the Egyptian government or assist the reporter, the official believed, the Trump administration intended to sit on the information and let the arrest be carried out. The official feared being punished for even alerting us to the danger."
So the Times reached out to diplomats in Walsh's native country, Ireland, and they took action: "Within an hour, Irish diplomats traveled to his house and safely escorted him to the airport before Egyptian forces could detain him."
Sulzberger added, "We hate to imagine what would have happened had that brave official not risked their career to alert us to the threat."
Yup, no vigour at all. Hope it's terminal.I had the unfortunate experience of watching/listening to part of the speech he's just given at the UN. It was strange, delivered in a weird halting monotone. At least it appeared that way to me.

But the Indians are Native Americans

You might have said that media coverage of Jack The Ripper was 92% negative - does that mean a media biased against a merciless killer of women, or does it suggest that Jack The Ripper wasn't a very nice chap?Didn’t Rachel Maddow already release some of Trumps tax returns where it showed he’d paid more than his fair share?
Also - I’m sure I read somewhere the other day that Trump media coverage is 92% negative.
How on earth can that be objective reporting?
We are indeed living in strange times.
I hope Pelosi has chosen her battle wisely - since there is a connection to Joe Biden's sketchy son, she probably hasn't.
I don't think he will get impeached. He will find a way to slither out of it.
I think the House will probably impeach him - Nancy Pelosi wouldn't have started the process if she didn't believe she had the votes - but I don't think they'd get a two-thirds majority in the Senate to convict him and actually remove him from office even if there was clear evidence he had committed treason.
Hunter Biden seems like a liability, I think while the impeachment process drags on, the Republicans and Fox etc. will dredge up all kinds of stuff, as well as rehashing his getting kicked out of the Navy for using cocaine, romancing his brother's widow, etc., and quite likely find enough for Trump to claim some sort of vindication. If they get anything really juicy, they might wait until after Biden gets the Democratic nomination to release it.
YupI think you're probably spot on. Disappointingly.
Call transcript. (kinda, there's caveats)

I don't see how he can get out of this one.
Whats really astonishing is that anyone can take it seriously. The author is anonymous and there are dozens of hearsay references to other anonymous contributors. Many of the allegations have no legal foundation. Clearly the Democrats have learned nothing from the Mueller fiasco because they don't want to learn anything. Already friendly media outfits have had to try and re-frame the arguments to meet the impeachment narrative - just two day in.Here's the full whistle-blower complaint:

It makes for astonishing reading

Washington Post and CNN have already been called out for blind partisanship that meets the very definition of fake news. Adam Schiff likewise simply made up a version of the conversation that he would liked to happened in order to tally with his soundbite about the Trump request for a 'favour' being akin to "Mob shakedown."
Confronted he later describe it as a "parody". In reality it is the impeachment process that is a parody. Not only have the liberal left leaned nothing they are actively regressing. Mueller was a confection but it least it had legs. Mueller 2.0 is so thin a gruel it might not make it past the weekend without imploding.
