What stupid shit has Trump done today?

when obama was elected, rightwingers were screaming that mrs obama was trying to ape (geddit?) jackie kennedy by wearing sleeveless dresses, and it was so obvious and so pathetic. now their hero says his wife is comparable to the same person. no race element to this at all, no sir.

no need for that tbh.

Too soon?

The justices, in a 7-2 decision, found that the dual-sovereignty doctrine does not contradict the Constitution's double jeopardy clause, which prevents an individual from being prosecuted for the same crime twice.

The decision could have widespread implications for defendants, including former associates of President Trump who are hoping the president might pardon them.

TBF that is one of those Supreme Court decisions that manages to be both legally correct and absolutely terrible, and its difficult to disagree with any of what Ginsburg said in her dissent.

It wasn't all that long ago that headlines like "On eve of launching re-election campaign, president announces millions of deportations" would have seemed shocking instead of just business as usual.

Trump may live-tweet first 2020 Democratic debates: report

President Trump has reportedly made plans to live-tweet the first two Democratic primary debates scheduled for next week against the advice of his closest aides.

The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that sources close to the president predict Trump will be active on Twitter throughout the two nights comprising the first Democratic primary debates of the 2020 election season.

The plans come reportedly despite advice from his top aides to let the Democrats attack each other in the media and onstage while remaining outside of the fray.

A spokesperson for the Trump campaign declined to comment to the Journal on the report. The topics and specific attacks to which the president responds on Twitter could provide insight for Democrats as to which issues the president sees as sensitive ahead of the general election.[\quote]

Trump Has Brilliantly Cornered Himself Where He’s Now Demanding Iran Abide by a Deal He Already Reneged On

After years of deriding the nuclear deal as “the worst deal in history,” President DonaldTrump withdrew the U.S. from what’s formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and reinstated sanctions on Iran.

The Trump administration, already suffering from a serious credibility deficit with allies, is now in the awkward position of demanding that Tehran comply with an agreement the American president has not only derided but pulled out of!

“Administration officials found themselves Monday grappling with whether to press the remaining parties to the deal, including Britain, France and Germany, to demand that Iran stay in compliance,” the Associated Press reports. “They must also consider if such a stance would essentially concede that the restrictions imposed during the Obama administration, while short of ideal, are better than none.”

It’s almost like the previous administration weighed the pros and cons and made a decision in the best strategic interest of the country. That feeling you have right now is nostalgia for competence.

I don't think they need "sources close to the president" to predict that "Trump will be active on Twitter." :D

If previous debates are anything to go by, he'll fire off a few angry tweets in the first 20 minutes then get distracted by a cheeseburger or something and wander off.

Our Orlando Sentinel endorsement

We’re here to announce our endorsement for president in 2020, or, at least, who we’re not endorsing: Donald Trump.

Some readers will wonder how we could possibly eliminate a candidate so far before an election, and before knowing the identity of his opponent.

Because there’s no point pretending we would ever recommend that readers vote for Trump.

After 2½ years we’ve seen enough.

Enough of the chaos, the division, the schoolyard insults, the self-aggrandizement, the corruption, and especially the lies.

So many lies — from white lies to whoppers — told out of ignorance, laziness, recklessness, expediency or opportunity.

Trump’s capacity for lying isn’t the surprise here, though the frequency is.

It’s the tolerance so many Americans have for it.

There was a time when even a single lie — a phony college degree, a bogus work history — would doom a politician’s career.

Not so for Trump, who claimed in 2017 that he lost the popular vote because millions of people voted illegally (they didn’t). In 2018 he said North Korea was no longer a nuclear threat (it is). And in 2019 he said windmills cause cancer (they don’t). Just last week he claimed the media fabricated unfavorable results from his campaign’s internal polling (it didn’t).

Doubling down on the Central Park Five.

Trump stands by 1989 Central Park Five comments

Can never admit he's wrong. No doubt it will play well to the fanbase.

They were exonerated way back in 2002 after a confession and DNA evidence from a convicted rapist and murderer - I wonder what it could possibly be about these black men that makes Trump suspect they are still guilty.

Trump called out the wrong ABC News on Twitter — and got a koala in response

President Trump regularly calls broadcast networks and newspapers "fake news" on Twitter and Monday night he hurled the insult at ABC News. However, he didn't tag the American ABC News in his tweet, but an Australian broadcaster — and they issued a hilarious, viral response.

The cheeky response garnered over 6,000 likes and nearly 1,000 retweets. While the president has yet to issue his own "koal-ity" response, it's likely he won't make the same mistake again.

the daily mails comment page was yeah they were innocent of that but being black locking them up prevented other crimes

....On Monday they shot down an unmanned drone flying in International Waters. We were cocked & loaded to retaliate last night on 3 different sights when I asked, how many will die. 150 people, sir, was the answer from a General. 10 minutes before the strike I stopped it, not....

....proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone. I am in no hurry, our Military is rebuilt, new, and ready to go, by far the best in the world. Sanctions are biting & more added last night. Iran can NEVER have Nuclear Weapons, not against the USA, and not against the WORLD!
