What new foods have you tried recently?

tbh I have no idea what it was but it was nice and from a Peruvian place. it was a rice/bean/potatoey (but not potato)/cucumber thing - just wish there had been enough of it that I didn't have to buy a sandwich afterwards

the restaurant itself though sucked

Beetroot juice - it's blended with apple so it's overly sweet and more than twice as calorific as V8 ...
Not worth the calories or extra cost IMHO ..
It reminds me of when I had an allotment and found myself with a spectacular beetroot harvest I struggled to do anything with that I liked ...

Ground flaxseed.

I'd been chucking them in whole (and therefore wastefully) in my bread for years - along with sesame, sunflower, pumpkin and hemp, but I'm now using them partly as a weight-loss aid, and partly to systematically optimise my diet for the future with regards omega 3 and fibre ...

I'm somewhat hooked - especially with some I bought in Aldi a couple of days ago blended with sesame and blueberries which I've been eating straight from the packet - and it's quite calorie-dense.

It has been having "interesting" effects on the latter parts of digestion - but I also have a bit of lurgy that could be exacerbating it...

Well yes, I treat myself to even more calorific crunchy PNB on my bread at the weekend - and a similar serving size because I weighed it, but in my current "diet mode" it rings alarm bells - and I've always been happier eating things with only one ingredient ...
I'm trying to not give my insulin any excuse to turn my breakfast into stored fat.

eat it, don't science it

They sell the biscuits in huge packs in Poundworld  The spread is pretty fucking nice too. I only ever eat mine out of the jar with a spoon, but reckon it would be nice with vanilla ice cream...
