What new foods have you tried recently?

Słodka chwila ("sweet moments") kaszka manna - instant semolina & milk with strawberry bits, designed to be mixed up in a mug. A bit bland, but a nicer texture than the jellylike starch-based options in the same range.

Sounds a bit like falooda.

Sounds good. I like all those milky things. Kheer is a personal favourite :)
That's the aromatic cold rice pudding, isn't it? Haven't tried that yet. Maybe one day when I've got the time to make and chill it...

Indeed it is. Just put some cardamon in a tin of Ambrosia ;) Just kidding! It's not far off that but so much nicer. I've been making my own chai powder and thought about using it to make an adapted kheer type recipe or to make chai ice cream.

The hotdog ones aren't anything to write home about, nor are the beans on toast ones.

I do like trying them all, though.

Yesterday I had fried dogfish. It was coated in a light batter and in cubes. It was OK, but rather salty. I'll try it again at a different bar to dee if it is any better before deciding about it.

I'm about to have coffee, made on our new machine using Lavazza, and instead of milk using some left over coconut milk which is the consistency of double cream. I found the recipe on a website. It looks interesting, I'll let you know how it goes.

eta It was good. The coconut was a bit thick for this to work well, but it was OK, I'll make it again as a treat, but I'll add some rum or brandy for flavour.

I've got some Mexican chocolate tablets which I'll turn into a coconut chocolate drink later. It's always good to find something to do with left over coconut milk.

Although they're spuds, we're having the Apache variety today which is a first, they look great.

M&S "Tom Yum" crisps - just like standard prawn cocktail flavour with added pretension and lemongrass I think. Not bad, not out of this world.

Veal. It'd probably been in the freezer too long, and I could have cooked it better, but it was still really nice
