What are you having for breakfast?

I've always thought it fairly normal to poach smoked fish in milk (or any fish for that matter - but if the fish is going into a dish that involves a white sauce of some sort then you definitely poach it in milk, then use that milk to make the sauce).
 
Hope you recycled the milk in tea or a nice dessert - waste not want not.
Of course...made it into a rather interesting strawberry surprise smoothie....guess the surprise.. (yes I used raspberries) :D
I had no idea people poached kippers in milk.
Takes the saltiness out of them and adds a richer smoother taste....my nan always cooked them this way, it's habit.
Had some kippers the other week - not a fan. Adding milk would just make them worse. :(

Going by the stuff that passes for nutrition in your diet I'll take that as a plus :p
 
It's mouldy bread season :p
I cut off the end and will toast it well :p
So a new loaf tonight and for the next weeks back to spoiling half the loaf by bagging it and keeping it in the fridge...
