What are you baking?

If there already is one of these then delete please.

Last night I made Nigel Salter Black Banana Loaf
http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/black_banana_cake_52982

I left out the nuts and instead of choc chips put in bashed chunks of green&blacks 80% cocoa.

It's yummy, sweet and a hint of bitter.

Have some in my bag for people at work :)

I have just done another one of these as we had bananas that needed using and a bar of cheap dark chocolate.
It's just come out the over and smells yummy. :)

my 13 year old son made these today...:)

My mum has a pot that I used to put on cakes when I was a kid. I dread to think how far past their date they are!

:D My parents probably have similar kind of stuff.

When I still lived at home I was making sparkling pink wine jelly to take to a dinner party.
My dad said "oh we have gelatin sheets in the cupboard".
They went out of date before I was born and I was about 24 at the time :D

Making cappuccino cupcakes. The frosting has sour cream. Not needed until tomorrow so if i make it in the morning and ice them will they be ok for the afternoon or should I pop them in the fridge?

potato cakes (made with mash from Friday night). Just eaten one with fried egg and bacon (and HP sauce). Gorgeous, especially after another endless dogwalk.

I made a torta caprese yesterday (flourless chocolate and almond cake - kind of like a huge, classy brownie) and cherry and vanilla sand biscuits today with the small girl. Both from this book and both very fucking delicious :D This is not a boast by the way - I'm appalling at pastry and had to bin half the biscuit dough because it wound me up so much trying to contain its crumbliness - just a testament to the book's greatness

Chocolate chip cookies but Nigella seems to be incredibly generous with her chips so I've about halved that. If they go well, some will be shared, most actually, if not bin or freezer or repurposed as a cheesecake base or something.

Cheese biscuits using a Nigella recipe. Very morish and bloody easy, although even easier if you have a food processor rather than the 70s Kenwood Chef I had to mix it in. She's right when says it takes ages to dough up. I didn't fancy testing my Vitamix with it!

Like homemade cheese straws but flat!

Salted caramel chocolate brownies after red nose bake off this week :D. Worm made the caramel all by herself and dusted them... I made the brownies and baked . She's really getting confident using utensils and the stove. The brownies are too frickin lush. #fatbastard

Made a squidgy chocolate fudge cake yesterday, it's got raspberry jam in the mix and it makes it really moist gives it a bit of a fruity tang.
It's to take into work tomorrow, but made yesterday as it's one of those cakes that gets better if you can bear to leave it for a day or 2.

Just put a carrot cake in the oven too.

I used an electric whisk to mix the carrot cake and it was quite a stiff mix which meant that the whisk motor was somewhat overworked and produced that distinctive smell. Took me right back to childhood and making cakes with my Granny :)
