What are you baking?

Eek, yes, it's that close! <breaks out the Elizabeth David HXB recipe>

ETA: Just looked up tangzhong. Eeenteresting...:hmm:

I keep meaning to give milk rolls using that method a try, someone posted a recipe a while back and I've saved it ready for when I have the time/inclination!

Here's the recipe for the milk rolls using the tangzhong method in case anyone is interested, I can imagine it would make fantastic hot cross buns (or non-denominational year round fruit-and-spices buns of any sort) too.

Thanks to whoever posted it in the first place - I can't recall who or in which thread to give credit and the search function is not helping, but I had the recipe saved and it includes the tangzhong instructions which should be easy enough for anyone familiar with making a roux to follow :)

The baking stakes seem high this Easter.
I have my kids over on Sunday.
Going to make olive and pepper bread. Plus some sort of apple pudding with pastry or possibly cake.

If you have a hob to oven suitable dish, tarte tatin would be a very tasty apple/pastry classic :)

(With some vanilla ice-cream or non dairy substitute, especially if this gorgeous weather holds!)

Yeah. Cram the pastry full of butter. A little fresh custard under the apple.
