I wasn't with you so je egret rien.Egret and some teal, Thames Path earlier this afternoon. Not seen many egret before, pleased to get a photo of this one.

.... or to put it another way: egrets, I've seen a few. But then again, too few to mention.
He's been in twice today already. Aka I have been in the kitchen twice so far this morning.
The robin's been in three or four times. Also seen eight swans (seven juvenile and one adult), a great crested grebe, two herons, two pink-footed geese, and many coots and Canada geese on a walk around the lake, plus plenty of wren action in the garden.
That looks nearly as big as your lad, lucky it wasn't that the eel caught the boy insteadView attachment 447154
No idea what flavour it is but the gold markings are pretty cool.
Oh and my lad pulled this out of the river on a piece of string with a bag of meat attached.
