Sorry to laugh as it was probably really bloody annoying for you to be woken up, but the image of that is hilarious!on their hind legs having a handbag fight (without handbags)
Shouldn't laugh, but we've just had similar - the two of 'em seemed to be arguing right under the bedroom window. In reality they were probably in the "wildwood" [it is very quiet up here at night, and sound travels !]no photograph as it was the middle of the bloody night
two foxes in the middle of the road outside the bedroom, on their hind legs having a handbag fight (without handbags) and screaming at each other.

Saw my first Weasel earlier today. I’m guessing it was a weasel because it definitely wasn’t a stoat
They’re pretty weasily distinguished one from the otherare you stoatally sure about that?
Yes. Barn Owls ...I heard an owl screeching last night. Unsure what type of owl. Are any specifically screechy rather than hooty?

aka Screech Owls.
Noisy, aren't they ?
We've got a couple that yell at each other some nights. If not expecting them to shriek, it is most disconcerting !
Also have Tawny [the twit-to-you or hoooooo calls] and Little owls

yeah, usually a pair communicating / marking territory.I think someone told me once that the only owls in the UK that make what we think of as classic owl twit twoo sounds, are tawny owls.
Hope it was a chocolate bar with nuts in it.I was dropping off Mrs SFM at the hairdressers yesterday morning and as I pulled into the kerb, we saw a squirrel on a garden wall clutching an entire bar of chocolate that was almost as big as itself. We surprised it when we pulled up and it dropped the chocolate. Even though its first instinct was to run away, it wasn’t going to give up its lucky find so it jumped to the pavement and dragged the bar along the street and managed to get away through a garden gate. Moved too quickly for Mrs SFM to get a photo.
Looked like a big bar of Dairy Milk. I’m sure it’s set up that squirrel (& its family) for this cold snap anyway.Hope it was a chocolate bar with nuts in it.
