Wear masks in shops

I have not been for an eye test since then.
Ive been to specsavers a few times (to get some new glasses and to get my daughter sorted) recently and they are all masked up.
I also had an eyetest (medical) at the opticians last week and the optometrist had some sort of issue with her breathing and asked me if she could remove her mask for a moment.

My recent experience of ambulance crews is that they were all masked, except the last lot which was last week.
I also saw 2 district nurses in a clients home last week, they were not masked.

GPs here are all masked up and have notices requesting that patients wear masks. Seats in waiting rooms are still spaced out 6 feet apart.
Same in opticians.
And of course hospitals.

District and community nurses still putting on full ppe before visiting patients in community.
We had the community nurse here for dad a few times. She parked up..took out fresh ppe (suit) and put that on plus mask and gloves before knocking at the door. When she left she removed all that gear and bagged it and left it on the step having asked me to bin it.

So they enter with fresh ppe and used ppe doesn't go back in the car with them. Seemed pretty efficient to me. And I was very glad to see how careful she was.

I haven't used the nhs or public transport recently so don't know about them but as far as shops, restaurants etc are concerned nobody round by me (coventry) wears masks anymore. I stopped myself about a year ago. I don't know if that's different elsewhere.

Still see people regularly wearing them but it's a very small minority - I assume the particularly vulnerable. I have visited hospital a few times recently and that's been fully masked on wards. My GP has signs insisting on masks and provided at the door but plenty of people just ignoring it.

I've wondered before if there's any mileage in wearing masks carelessly to get a slight dose now and again.
Vaccination seems to be annual now for those of us not at massive risk and if I'm going to catch it, I want it to be sooner rather than later in the cycle and it's 5 months since my last dose...
If they offer me a spring dose, it will be because they still insist on considering me "diabetic".

If you arent aged 75 upwards then I get the impression the bar is fairly high for the spring booster, I dont think diabetes would qualify you.
