I was at a thing last night where the compere referred to a woman as a 'twink'. Me and my oldster friends were like .Yeah I think a lot of this is like weird generational differences that I'm gonna complain about cos I'm old.
Hmm... what is this new meaning of "twink" then? Did the compere refer to any women there as a "bear" etc?I was at a thing last night where the compere referred to a woman as a 'twink'. Me and my oldster friends were like .
yeh some people who don't know what the actual fuck they're talking aboutFor what it's worth I'm really not sure I agree that Russia is best looked at through a 'decolonial' framework like eg UK and India, parts of Africa etc. as some people are suggesting.

We are? I honestly had no idea. Was not expecting this turn of events, but it seems like we're now dangerously close to having a round of "is it appropriation for bi women to use the terms butch/femme?" discourse break out here.
What if they're Russian bi women in Moldova though? No. HTH
what if they are? what of it? eh? eh?What if they're Russian bi women in Moldova though?
It was a transwoman using it about a cis, straight woman if that helps any? (I've never heard it used about a woman before which was kind of my point about how out of touch I obvs am .)Was not expecting this turn of events, but it seems like we're now dangerously close to having a round of "is it appropriation for bi women to use the terms butch/femme?" discourse break out here.
Yeah, I feel like it's not that unusual in (some) queer circles for people to kind of play around with gendered terminology like that? I dunno, I don't call that many women twinks on a day-to-day basis but I wouldn't immediately raise an eyebrow at it, I think I know at least one theyfab who uses the term?It was a transwoman using it about a cis, straight woman if that helps any? Indeed. I have never heard it used in real life. But I did hear it on an American sit com (possibly Grace and Frankie) when an older gay character was worried about his partner getting a younger lover. The younger man was the twink. It was a transwoman using it about a cis, straight woman if that helps any? nor i until a couple of minutes agoTbh I'm not really that involved in 'the queer community' at all I didn't even know what a twink was until a couple of years ago I think.
Twinkies they are pure calories devoid of nutritional content (and disgusting)American wrapped cake. Like small Swiss roll with synthetic cream filling.
I still don't and going by this conversation I have zero desire to find outTbh I'm not really that involved in 'the queer community' at all I didn't even know what a twink was until a couple of years ago I think.
Like I say, my sole experience of the term is an American sitcom and this thread today.I thought it described someone with like a young looking slim physique, not necessarily young tho? I'm no expert in these things tho lol. And nah I don't think it's ageist.
That's nice.I still don't and going by this conversation I have zero desire to find out
Bear-faced liesIs "twinkjacketing" a term? It is now, I suppose.
