The vermin's majority is thanks to... 901 voters

laptop

Freudenschade
I assume the total is 1802 and the 901 is based on them voting for the vermin's nearest opponent rather than just not turning up, or hanging themselves or something.

It kind of assumes that shifting further right would simply lead to Tories voting Labour instead, without losing any Labour supporters. Which given that wafer-thin hold they have on a lot of old Labour types (as evidence by that SNP debacle), seems something of a silly supposition.

So we need to get more anti-vermin voters out to the polling stations - perhaps tactical voting / not splitting the opposition ?

901 just happens to be the number of lamp posts on Oxford street* I feel there could be a symbolic piece of citizens justice in this.

*this may or may not be a load of bollocks I just pulled out of my arse.

If Carmichael were your MP...what would be your position?

I don't think I would actually care. POLITICIAN LIES : 'HOLD THE FRONT PAGE!' :D

Seriously, have a look at the lies from all sides in the recent election, then stick a cattle-prod up to arse and see if you can care a fuck. Jaded? Slightly. :D

we've had our disagreements but Dexters right here- it isn't just the snappies wanting rid of carmichael. His own electorate seem pretty hacked off as well.

Well, they are the ones who can persuade him to go. Should he go? In any honest analysis, yes, he should. Will he go? 50:50 at the moment, it all depends on whether some other matter crops up to distract attention. We can look forward to five years of smear politics, I doubt if those new SNP MPs know what they are in for. Unless they are absolutely squeaky clean, the press will be on to it.

I live in vale of clwyd which went to the tories by 237 from a labour majority of 4000, the mp that had been in situ for 18 years, and who was one of the mp's who owned a flat in London he was letting whilst getting his rent paid on another London flat, when he first took the seat he was local teacher, man with feet on the ground and experience of living in the town which contains one of the poorest wards in the country.

I'm fairly angry politically so if you could send me the 237 addresses I'll go chat with them

You're going to find more than 237.

There is a difference between being possibly a bit too optimistic about future hypothetical scenarios over which no one can be absolutely certain and leaking a faked memo which you know to be a lie because you have concocted it yourself. If you cannot see the difference then you are just an ideological fanatic for whom the prospect of an independent Scotland is so terrible that any lie can be deployed to stop it.

I dont quite follow, the previous MP was a crook so you're angry now he's gone?

See post #18.

The downside is 80 UKIP MPs.

That is true, but I'd still opt for PR if offered the choice. At least it wouldn't allow a bunch of sociopaths unfettered access to all the power of the British state on the basis of little more than a third of the vote and a much smaller fraction of the electorate.

The thing is - if people realised that their vote for UKIP would actually count how many would change to someone else? I'm guessing quite a few of them. UKIP is an easy protest vote but not so easy to stomach when they start getting into power.
