I agree with the former but not the latter.People should be able to walk or cycle anytime they want, as much as they want. Excessive car use is stopping that.
It's called redressing the balance. No conspiracy theory here, just fairness.
Really mate, get some help - or ease off on the caffeine or cocaine or whatever it is ...Well if you are going to go all binary.
Who has changed our lives in the most positive way, giving us all a voice:
1. All those geeks who worked day and night to give us the world wide web, that this website forum is hosted on.
2. Politicians churning out laws.
????
Decentralsied projects aimed at bringing more decentralised structure to society and tech stacks, not legislation drafted by a pack of corrupt cunts for the benefit of the state and large corporates, will improve are lives and bring fairness and equity to those who need it the both.
I've just got "Why are children always going missing" left on mine.Freeman on the land stuff now, heading towards a full house in conspiracy theories bingo.
I'm quite happy to live in a 8'x5' pod, because I have no ambition.I have a car (rather expensive one at that) and so does Mrs Q so we have as many cars as people in the Q household. (She's out in mine by the way not hers) I too believe I have the right to use my car whenever I need to.
However I am quite happy to not use my car if I don't need to and for the bulk of shopping trips I make I don't need to. Quite happy to leave it parked in my drive and make the 10 min walk to either Aldi's or the Tesco with my environmentally friendly reusable bag (another outrageous socialist plot) in my hand to buy stuff. I'm not being forced to walk or say hello to my neighbours as I pass them, I don't feel my freedoms are being impinged upon by being encouraged to use the excellent facilities conveniently placed close to hand. I'm very lucky to live somewhere like this and quite happy for people in big cities to get the same standard of living as I do. Indeed since you can of course stick a tram stop or a subway station in the middle of each '15 min city' the residents can still enjoy the amenities of Big City Life whilst they're at it.
I did use an AI bot for about 5 of my replies in the bitcoin thread and none of you fuckers noticed!!it's a bot that's been programmed in the hell of conspiracy theory forums with arguments selected randomly
Because you are posting total shit.I did use an AI bot for about 5 of my replies in the bitcoin thread and none of you fuckers noticed!!
No. But you have to admit, it stops you dead in your tracks with emotional blackmail. That is your justification ?
About what? How do you know that you're right?
And we're done. Curtain down. Show's over. Orchestra is packing up the instruments, the bar is closed, no autographs tonight, go home everybody, we're finished here.I did use an AI bot for about 5 of my replies in the bitcoin thread and none of you fuckers noticed!!
It was just a lampoon. We've been lampooned.Yes well that doesn't really surprise me
You can walk away from Harold in real life and when you meet him on the internet. It's got that energy of 4am at teh festival and after the 10th spliff and 6 can of special brew and bongo circle, Harold with his dreadlocks starts to set teh worlds to rights
whilst no fan of government over reach - centralised power is probably one of the deciding factors in your being able to watch twaddle on Youtube all day - the roads that the geeks use to go to work. the laws to protect them from death, like building regulations. the taxation system they have things like schools to send their kids too, and hospitals if they break their legs. the rules of teh road to stop them being slaughtered by other people in cars. Thier own sense of space and asthetics protected by the land regulations to stop green space being turned into shopping malls. The list goes on and on and on. You have the utter privilage of being radicalised from your own bedroom into a world of monitised junk. You are in a sense the perfected neoliberal "subject" - how ironic for such a free thinker - always missing the woods for the trees, whilst always being fleeced.Well if you are going to go all binary.

I visit my Mother and experience the love in her eyes. How do you know you exist StakerOne ?
Because you're a suicidal moron ?No. But you have to admit, it stops you dead in your tracks with emotional blackmail.
I never claimed governments are useless.whilst no fan of government over reach - centralised power is probably one of the deciding factors in your being able to watch twaddle on Youtube all day - the roads that the geeks use to go to work. the laws to protect them from death, like building regulations. the taxation system they have things like schools to send their kids too, and hospitals if they break their legs. the rules of teh road to stop being slaughtering people in cars. the land regulations to stop green space being turned into shopping malls. teh list goes on and on and on. It's because of people like you that we need governments, police, social services and good mental health care.I never claimed governments are useless.
In my world "Governments are dead, long live governance."
Wherever you are, you're currently in an empty gated community of your mind. And it's a lonely, angry place.
Come in from the wilderness.
Mate - here's a fact for you: you are lucky to have been born here. Anyone who is born here got an incredible roll of the dice. That might have come about somewhat due to the expense of the rest of the world, but still always count your blessing. You're freedoms in the sense you picture are not under threat, but societies move on. Things change. Just because of some social pressure to take a life saving medicine when over 200k of people were slaughtered by a diseased, is just basic public health advice. A few traffic regulation changes does not mean we are heading into a Totalitarian-slave state. You honestly think that this place will look like North Korea or the worst of the soviet union or nazi germany in 10, 20 years? Can you see what a moronic, missing-wood-for-the-trees take that is?I never claimed governments are useless.
In my world "Governments are dead, long live governance."
I've had better mental health care off my own friends than anything this country has ever provided. It's because of people like you that we need governments, police, social services and goof mental health care.
Good job my views aren't based soley on a proposed traffic filtering system isn't it?Mate - here's a fact for you: you are lucky to have been born here. Haven't you got him the sack yet? This character is very much like the late-30s chap at work.
Started out in the "skeptical atheist" community - much as I did, but he got diverted down "men's rights" and it got worse and worse - Trump supporter, brexiter, bitcoin miner, silk road microdoser, racist....
By the time I retired we had had words and agreed to avoid each other and never discuss politics.
