Trump spends all of his time, day after day for 6 weeks now, absorbing misinformation, all day long, on twitter and on his two supportive tv channels.
He's not actually the source of most of the lies it's more that he consumes a diet of them all day long, anything supportive of his delusion he is there soaking it in, clinging to it, amplifying it. I think that's a kind of important piece of what is happening.

Then there's his lifelong refusal to back down, admit he was wrong or a failure, apologize, show empathy or support for anyone other than his acolytes/ base...
If he is escorted from the White House, it will make him a martyr and he will use it to show that he was "right" all the time.

Now looking like the planned “Million Militia March” on Jan 20th, or the earlier event on Jan 6th which is backed by Trump himself- are being floated as potential pretext (or at least the attendant disorder/ violence, particularly if militias attempt to ‘open carry’ in the capital) for an attempted martial law/ coup attempt. The echoes of Mussolini’s March on Rome are not unnoticed.

I am not sure whether people in general don't believe this is possible ... or they are waiting to see what happens before choosing sides . I am not saying the maga crew pose any kind of real threat as a militia to the USA (lol) but other militias are available and you can bet they will exploit every angle to find one.

They'd be better repeatedly publishing clips of Powell's "highlights" and making her out to be the utter loon that she clearly is. A defamation suit would require them to prove that she's knowingly and demonstrably wrong in the courts, and what Powell and co are probably angling for is the opportunity to examine the reliability of voting machines in that setting. Remember, none of their bonkers lawsuits have got anywhere near examining the actual content of their fraud claims in any detail - don't gift them the opportunity to do so.

Indeed. The reality is that there is a fair portion of the working class in there. The anger is real and the cause of it is their exploitation . We just need to ... not ridicule them . Tricky . But keep in mind that the source of their anger is actually the same as yours .
I find that they get triggered by labels like anarchy, communism and socialism. If we want them back this is going to be a puzzle and a half but hopefully it might also be the end of cancel culture :/
