How does she refer to you?I refer to my own wife as my missus and she is completely fine with it. Take your self righteous twattiness somewhere else, you miserable prick.

So that means it’s ok to refer to all women solely based on their relation to men?I refer to my own wife as my missus and she is completely fine with it. Take your self righteous twattiness somewhere else, you miserable prick.
Yes. Jog on.So that means it’s ok to refer to all women solely based on their relation to men?
Clearly not, because they aren't Jews.but they aren't the metropolitan elite...
My hubby. Why? Is she sexist too?How does she refer to you?
Unfortunate, perhaps, but tricky to confirm sexism from two words of reported speechMy hubby. Why? Is she sexist too?
I suppose it's better than "wifey", which is how my sister-in-law refers to herself.I refer to my own wife as my missus and she is completely fine with it. Take your self righteous twattiness somewhere else, you miserable prick.
Yes, Given that she is the person who invented the myth that Call me Dave was once fellated by a dead , she has had a more significant influence on British political discourse than her old man.I am not a fan of Isabel Oakeshott but referring to her as someone’s “missus” is not on, take a hike with your dinosaur sexism.
Cuntface. How does she refer to you?
Nah I think you can “jog on” thank you Sid the SexistYes. Jog on.
Oh do piss off and stop spamming the thread with your utter nonsense you complete twat.Nah I think you can “jog on” thank you Sid the Sexist
It's hardly nonsense to challenge the notion of describing a woman merely by her relationship to a man. Simply because you may happen to refer to your own partner in such a manner does not justify general usage on a forum noted for more enlightened views.Oh do piss off and stop spamming the thread with your utter nonsense you complete twat.
At schools, children refer to their female teachers as miss or mrs. I guess by your superior view, all British schools are backwards, right? It's hardly nonsense to challenge the notion of describing a woman merely by her relationship to a man. I’d have thought that was self-evident.But, this is a thread about Reform, so describing her as Tice's partner/mrs seems reasonable, considering a lot of people are likely to be unaware of their relationship, and left wondering why she's being featured on the this thread.
I don't think it's about being superior, just being appropriate and non-demeaning. I accept what cupid_stunt has said above about the relevance of their relationship to the thread content but, even so, there are better ways of informing posters of that publicised relationship without resorting to the outdated and demeaning term missus. At schools, children refer to their female teachers as miss or mrs. Personally, I couldn't give two shits about your pedantic offence finding. It's a word in common usage as non offensive. Care to get back to the topic or are you going to continue to bore up this thread with your weird offense taking on behalf of others?I don't think it's about being superior, just being appropriate and non-demeaning. People can always reflect and change; you never know?We won't be noted for more enlightened views for much longer
Sorry that you're a bit upset; odd hill to die on, but hey, if you're not really prepared to reflect on why others might prefer that type of description of a women to be used, there's not much I can do to help with that.Personally, I couldn't give two shits about your pedantic offence finding. It's a word in common usage as non offensive. Care to get back to the topic or are you going to continue to bore up this thread with your weird offense taking on behalf of others?
The word itself is shit, but that's not the whole point. You're defining a woman purely in the context of her relationship, almost like property. No hill for me to die on. I will continue to use the word missus as much as I please and there is nothing you can do about it. You can continue to get offended or just get used to it. Entirely up to you.
Tell someone who cares. The word itself is shit, but that's not the whole point. You're defining a woman purely in the context of her relationship, almost like property.
Oakeshott is a person in her own right. She earned that reputation as an oxygen thieving bigot by her own merit (almost complete lack thereof), show an appropriate and targeted lack of respect rather than a scattergun approach that demeans other women.
Don't take it so personally. Almost everyone on these boards has been pulled up for some piece of language or other at some point over the years. Take even a single moment of self reflection and it's over and done; or, double down and a lot of people will think you're a shit for a very long time. Your call.Tell someone who cares.
Or, as I said above, you could take a moment to reflect on why others think it inappropriate to define Oakeshott by her relationship with Tice. AFAIK, they are not married. No hill for me to die on. I will continue to use the word missus as much as I please and there is nothing you can do about it. You can continue to get offended or just get used to it. Entirely up to you.
Arguing this is like arguing with someone who insists an apple is an orange. Complete waste of time and frankly boring.Don't take it so personally. You haven't made any kind of argument. Just insisted you're right and everyone else is wrong.Arguing this is like arguing with someone who insists an apple is an orange. Complete waste of time and frankly boring.
