The Final Sopranos on E4 (no spoliers)

It felt like just one of six scripts that could have gone in the bin.

There's no real progression - its botched and hasty.

There's beeen glimmers of where the last series could have gone, all of those old issues coming to a head, but there hasn't been the time taken to do so properly, themes picked up, then dropped, throw in a shag, throw in a murder...

Chrissie loses it all in about 10 minutes on screen.

The one thing I would say for it is that is does make me truly feel about them all as I really would in life.

Frankly you wouldn't care if they were all killed off tomorrow.

Another great episode - poor AJ:(

Great when Tony smashed in Coco - teeth everywhere!

Phil is an arsehole - he must know that if one of his men insults the daughter of a boss there will be violent retribution. Hopefully he will get it before then end of the series.

Waited for the "next episode" bit - next two look fantastic, resisting the temptaion to watch them on the internet. Thinking about having a Farewell Sopranos night the last night, invite a few obsessives like me round i think, eat fine italian meats and watch the last episode

The Phil actor always plays a character you're longing to see violently rubbed out. You normally get the satisfaction too.:D

Goodfellas, Raging Bull etc.

I think this series has been excellent so far. A lot slower, but in many ways more rel. I couldn't believe it when he finished of Christopher like that! Surely the dude who he stamped on would have died.. How can Tony get away with something like that?? because he's a boss I suppose..

Maybe he won't eh? Only 2 episodes left

Can we stop it with all the "Oohh, you'll be disappointed" bollocks? I'm quite amazed that, for once, I don't know what happens. The thread says "no spoilers" so NO FUCKING SPOILERS.

OK? ;)

Thankyou.

Its a pile of pish - really disappointing.

I've watched The Soprano's from the start and its been a fantastic ride, but frankly its going through the motions now. It's dramatically poor and wholly unbelievable as Tony beds yet another fantastic looking woman he isn't paying. BORING.

Time they got WHACKED.
you're an idiot.

I think this series has been really good.

The first in the series was great, which is an exception to their usual thing of having a rubbish first episode that attempts to tie up previous lose ends for new viewers or those with short memories.

I also love the way that the Oedipal themes that were so prominent in the 1st series have resurfaced again in the final series.

The whole storyline with Christopher is very Oedipal, as demonstrated in Chrissy's murderous unconscious wishes towards Tony reflected in the movie. Tony's understanding of how Oedipal conflicts work, gained from his time in therapy, means that he understands Chrissy's murderous impulses and is concerned about them.

In some ways Tony has become a better man, kinder, with some sense of responsibility, yet just when you think he's changing he does something terrible to remind you who he really is.

The scene in the therapist's room, when they have family therapy and Tony notices a tooth caught up in the turn up of his trousers, that was very darkly funny and one of those small things that makes the series so great.

The Monopoly house embedded in Tony's face was another of those little moments and in some ways resonated with the later incident with the tooth in the turn up. When you get involved in violent acts things stick to you. Little, yet important things. Things with meaning.

I love the Sopranos.

I love the Sopranos.

This bits are great - show the juxtaposition of Tony's family life and his career, and how they inevitably (and sometimes literally) bleed into one another no matter how he tries to keep them seperate.

Best tv programme ever i reckon

Great.

You spend the time it takes to put 15000 posts on here, you call yourself 'Belboid', like Daleks and think calling someone an 'Idiot' first time you converse with them is ok.

WTF does it say about you?

that, sir, I believe your views on this magnificent second half of the last series of possibly the greatest television show ever, are those of an idiot. expressed most forthrightly - upon your very first posts on this board - and somewhat intemperately. i consider your views to be entirely specious and several galaxies wide of the point(s) of the denouement to tony's tale.

whether you had 5 posts of 50,000, I would have to call you an idiot for expressing idiotic views. thus far, you have commented merely upon this one thread, and the view expressed was idiotic. thus....

also - i call myself 'belboid', not 'Belboid' - it's a typographical thing, looks better in my opinion.

thank you for your time in reading this post.

You're too kind and seem at least faintly rational by the standards here. I feel we are going to get along.

Ha Ha - you're a hoot.

I hope we can get along too - but that was an extraordinarily poncy and smug retort.

Its hardly 'magnificent' now is it? It's been great but the glory days are well gone.

Last one was good tho.

And no, you weren't asked. ;)

Oh dear.
This is a life for you, isn't it?
Don't bother answering. I won't be reading it.
If I want your opinion in the future I'll give it to you.
