Didn't see AJ, but from the sound of it he was mediocre enough to even tempt Fury to fight him.

I listened to it on the radio but fell asleep. Agree with Carl Froch who asked what AJ is even fighting for any more.

He seems to have lost all his spite. The AJ that grinned as he knocked people out, who smirked at Klitschko when he beat him has long gone. Man thinks he's a boxer. He isn't. Never was. Unfortunately he's also now not a fighter either. I think Ruiz damaged him a hell of a lot more than everyone first thought.

Yep, agree with every word of that. The irony is he was so close to knocking Ruiz out. Had him down twice iirc.

Hard to know whether the different trainers he's had since Ruiz 1 have been having to work round this 'psychological flaw' or if he's just not been following the plan. He was terrible in Usyk 1, failing to use his obvious advantages. If he fights Fury next, Fury will get into his head before the fight starts. Though... the size of Joshua makes him a real challenge. If he could get his mojo back he could at least get a heroic failure.

Eddie Hearn trailing the idea that Joshua needs another tune up fight before fighting the likes of Fury, 'he's just getting used to his trainer' type stuff. Quite astonishing that someone who was a multi-title world champion should need to 'rebuild'.

I think in UFC the organisation choose and organise the fights, although it think fighters can have a say if they really want to fight someone.

Boxing could do with some of the control taken from the agents. But due to the different belts it's not as straight forward as ufc I suppose

I'm not watching Joyce v Zhang, but the text updates are not looking too good for Joe so far (round 4).

Edit: ah, shite!

I really like Joyce but you can imagine how his fairly predictable style could easily come apart fighting somebody unorthodox or, as in this case, southpaw.

I not entirely convinced the UFC fight making selection is much better than boxings fucked up system. Wonder how the pay across the range of fighters compares

They can bill it as The Clash You Didn't Know You Wanted To See - And Still Don't
'From the people that brought you the epic battle with Sefer Seferi, the titanic struggle with Francesco,Pianeta, the death or glory battle with someone called Tom Schwartz, the risk to my knuckles kerfuffle with Derek Chisora's head...'

Tank Davis vs Garcia in the wee small hours should be good.
Both unbeaten, both have 95% KOs.

Too close to call

Just turned the Buatsi undercard on and there was one of the earlier fighters coming out to 'surfin bird'. Don't know what to say.

Then.. saw one of his fans had an Irish tricolour (yes, he's (norn)Irish), with 'bang bang gravy chip' on it. I appreciate the sentiment, tbh, but I'm struggling to keep up.

Three title fights tonight in different venues on different channels at roughly the same time.
Pointless.
Lopez vs Conlan - BT1
Wood vs Lara - DAZN
Okolie vs Billiam-Smith - Sky Action

Not the first time Whyte has faced these allegations so if true, pending proper investigations, then that has to be him finished. Shame really as this pish aside i really like him. Doesn't it half gall when your heroes have feet of clay eh?

I was well looking forwards to that fight too.

All the must see fights recently have been 4am jobs. Crawford vs Spence and Tank vs Garcia being two examples
