The all boxing thread

Unless I missed it because I only turned on about 10.20, I was disappointed that with the crowd and sense of occasion, Carl Froch didn't mention his fight in front of 80,000 at Wembley 😂

I was really impressed with Kell's composure. Looked like Khan had got to him before the fight and then all that nonsense over the gloves. Whatever caused it, it was crazy that he didn't even have time to hit a few pads with the new ones. But then he just stuck to the game plan and even when he got Khan going he didn't go mad. I'd quite like to see him twat Chris Eubank Jnr, but I don't think he'd win that one. Probably best if he retires, but if he could get himself in that shape again he could do some damage to most sub-elite fighters.

A lot of the talk was about both Brook and Khan being at the same state of decline in their careers. Khan clearly was on the slide and iirc hasn't had a serious fight since 2019. Brook may not have dropped much in terms of his level. Since 2016 he's lost to GGG, Crawford and Spence - started well in the first 2 of those but ultimately came up against 3 brilliant fighters. I've not seen any of the 3 fights he had between Crawford and Spence, but he won all 3, 2 by KO. Anyway, I'm rambling, basically those no sign has dropped that much. Certainly wasn't tonight.

I don't see how Brook has anything left to prove now. This win is a brilliant full stop on an excellent career. Fwiw i think that if he pushes himself, he has the beating of Eubank but he doesn't need the fight.

Decent fight on now between Taylor and Catterall.
A very partisan Scottish crowd on Taylors side and he was heavy favourite before the start but Catterall bossing it after 3 rounds

What a complete swizz. Taylor in no way won that fight.
Must have been fighting in Scotland with a partisan crowd that done it

I had Catterall ahead by 5 rounds at least. For a judge to give it to Taylor by one round, kW alone the other by 3 is a shocker.

Fight stats and cards are here. One judge gave Taylor 3 of the first 4 rounds and the others gave them 2 each. What the fuck where they watching?

I see one of rhe judges was Ian John Lewis. He's a nice enough bloke but fucking hell, as a ref and then judge he's made some odd descions

Paddy Power have refunded all bets on Catterall to win.
Must be a travesty if a bookie gives away money

Finally caught up with Brook v Khan - it was only going to go one way. Enjoyed it tho'.

Taylor v Catterall, FFS... it's the one thing I hate about boxing. The Cat had that all day long.

Lol, in the shape of Holyfield's ear with a nibble out of it.

Mike Tyson is now selling cannabis edibles in the shape of Evander Holyfield’s ear, paying homage to their infamous ‘Bite Fight’.

Tyson is making fun of the situation 25 years on by releasing ‘Mike Bites’ – the latest product from his cannabis company.

They are simply a packet of small edible cannabis sweets, shaped like an ear.

Every ‘Mike Bite’ has a chunk missing to represent the piece of Holyfield’s ear which Tyson bit off in 1997.

This number happening on Saturday. Can't help but think they are too big to be effective boxers, unless fighting other worlds strongest men types

Lots of gloves on hips and leaning on the top ropes blowing out their arseholes.

Obviously there is a reasonable risk of one of them knocking the other one out with a bomb that lands but it will be dainty feet and standing off for half a round till they are tired then just a big mess

The money is on one of their hearts exploding

Looked at the highlight reel for the mountain vs eddie

Mountain maintained a good active jab and straight right combo. Kept his height and used reach advantage

Eddie leaned away and underneath and threw occasional haymakers. Got annoyed and beaten by the jab

Nonsense really

Absolute pish. Hard to believe Eddie Hall had ever set foot in a ring prior to the fight. To train for months to be that woeful:facepalm:

Not so much for him for him defending of his country then after all.
Loophole:

Any man with 3 kids can leave.
Any man between the ages of 18 and 60 with less than 3 kids stay.
Loma has 2 kids - he's staying.

But you know what, why fucking not... let the man give some joy to his country in these tough times, as an individual he'll offer more to his brothers and sisters fighting in a ring than he would fighting in a trench.

AJ is getting smoked in 9.

Ah I know. I'm kinda only half joking after all. And I also hope he batters AJ.

I think war can be fought on many fronts and a visible national sporting hero clubbing Joshua to death on pay per view will be a positive for Ukraine and will make me a happy chap
