Sleaford Mods

Oh, there's been a lot of criticism of DB. Much as his output is amazing, it can be hard to separate the man from his art.

Pretty much like all the artists you mentioned but they're all wankers at the end of the day.

All artists, musicians, actors, playwrights, directors etc are.
Shakespeare was clever - we know virtually fuck all about him. Best way if you ask me, let the work stand by itself.

People change their opinions. They grow and change their minds about things.
Nothing more suspect than liking the same things you did when you were young. It shows conservatism and lack of progress. Some of my generation are stuck in the 90s, still listening to Blur and Oasis and other rinsed shit. Some people even still listen to the fucking Beatles ffs!
I found Bill Hicks funny and cool when I was a teenager, but have you gone back and watched those routines again? They haven’t aged well at all.

Somebody do a poll.

Did you ever like Sleaford Mods?

a) I thought they were alright.
b) Loved them. But condemn them now of course.
c) Never heard of them.
d) Always knew they were bourgeois wrong uns. Ner ner, I was right all along.
e) onion rings

Still listen to stuff that I liked in those impressionable years from 12 - 49, but yeah, like favourite films, a lot of it isn't what it used to be.

Some fans absolutely lose it when you critical of their beloved bands/films that they imprinted on.

Conversely I don’t get why folk love to trash stuff they don’t like. If you don’t like something, why are you even bothering with a thread about them?
It must be an ego thing where folk think we need to know where their margins of what’s cool are currently set.

Imagine people liking just anything without the approval of the urban collective! I'm shocked I tell you, shocked and appalled. Has it come to this?

I still enjoy the music I listened to in the 1970s and 1980s. Doesn't mean I'm conservative and lacking progress in my life overall.

It’s loads more fun to trash stuff than to praise it. That’s just human nature
