Sleaford Mods

I thought Sleaford Mods were great around 10 years ago when they first rocked up. Went to see them at the Lexington in 2014 and it was a great show....

Jason (is that his name?) was on fire - brilliant front man - utterly compelling....

I swiftly lost interest though and haven't listened to them in yonks and can't imagine I'll be revisiting them - even imagining them in my head right now is giving me a bit of a headache.
 
I saw them for the first time last year and thought Jason was a very compelling front man. Billy Nomates guest singer also compelling. I think they're a great live band.

I don't expect bands I like to be politically clued up necessarily, but it is disappointing that he was that clueless in Madrid.

I disagree. I take you back to Jobseeker as the example. Going to sign on and telling the truth rather than playing the game. I think that's clever, honest and very effective.

Of course, but the context is here. Over the years I’m thinking Bill Hicks, Michael Moore, Banksy etc. Brooker was loved and then loathed too iirc.
I think Sleaford Mods don’t get a fair hearing really where artists like Bowie are beyond the pale to criticise.

Oh, there's been a lot of criticism of DB. Much as his output is amazing, it can be hard to separate the man from his art.

Pretty much like all the artists you mentioned but they're all wankers at the end of the day.

All artists, musicians, actors, playwrights, directors etc are.

I love Hicks. But if he were alive today I've no doubt he'd be an utter crank. He was from Austin, along with Alex Jones and that bellend Rogan.
