They're not our curtains, TBF. But no point replacing until walls done!Nice light but I am irrationally annoyed by your curtains

I need this. Did you get it from somewhere generic or is it an amazing one off?Replaced a 5 year old ugly bedside cabinet with a much nicer 9 drawer today.

I started stripping the only room I've never decorated last week. It was blown vinyl and I knew it was going to throw up some shit. It came off like shards of glass the amount of layers of paint it had on. Then I discovered this above the fire place,

looks like they had panelling stuck on with thick layers of contact adhesive . So now I'm going to have to get heavy duty lining paper cos everything I've tried won't shift it.
Lost my motovation somewhat .
Anyway, when I find my mojo, I'm looking at either herb on the left or Kilkenny on the right.

Oh, and my walls are now probably 50% polyfilla, dust everywhere
It looks darker in the photo, but maybe you and Kabbes have a point. Plus the herb is 14 quid for 5litres, a lot cheaper than Kilkenny .Herb is nice. Relaxing. Slightly worried you might feel like you were living at the bottom of a swamp with Kilkenny.
Yeh, I couldn't work out what would go with it. Deffo not a golds type of person. You’re going to be restricted to golds
Looked into panelling but it was to expensiveAnother vote for herb here Calamity1971
What about re doing panelling on tge chimney breast? Keeping it white?
Grade 2 listed buildings opposite may become yuppie shite.
Me too. The estate manager is a cunt. He has a massive house down the road and charges everything he has done to the seminary. Snidey bastard . He's like the Frank Tate of durham, but with a hunchOh I hope not.

I’d nitromors it. It’s vicious, but no residue to deal with and better on mouldings etcThis is PeelAway 1 (the nastier more potent one of two products) after about 8 hours. I'd already scraped a layer or two off the top section hence the improved result there. It works pretty well, I guess I could have used more or left it longer.
It isn't 'peel away' though, it leaves a sticky goo and it's tricky to remove that from cast iron without water. Used a bit and dried it off, hopefully quickly enough so it doesn't rust.
Been using a sample pot but it's worked well enough that I'll buy a big tub.

I have. It isn't like it used to be. No longer vicious and no longer effective.Nitromors isn't like it used to be, although I haven't tried it.
I'm told not to on cast iron, it might crack.I have. It isn't like it used to be. No longer vicious and no longer effective.
If it's metal. could you use a hot air gun?
Oh no! I have a new pot to use to strip the side gate.... I only have a scrape on the old potNitromors isn't like it used to be, although I haven't tried it.
What's the gate made out of?Oh no! I have a new pot to use to strip the side gate.... I only have a scrape on the old pot
Wrought iron. There are two, I have stripped, treated and painted the other one, that leads to the front door. And have been avoiding doing the second because it was such an arse- I tried heat, wire wool, and peel it off- then my dad brought up an aged tin of nitromors from his shed and it was brilliant (well, incredibly vicious and gross). What's the gate made out of?
