There's no future in England's dreaming
Simple question. Don't even try and confuse things in the poll, you know what it means, that I'm talking about a judicial process - not the SAS. Or revolutionary justice.

What do I think? I think NO. Because if just one innocent person was killed, that is enough for the death penalty to be wrong.

Bun fights allowed.

It's not a simple yes or no question.

Reintroduced for what? Under what circumstances? What measures would be introduced to prevent miscarriages? What about changes in the legal framework?

The correct answer of course, is yes, but only under very specific conditions with a massive overhaul of the judicial system.

Er, you are allowed to debate what you might see as nuance. I couldn't fit the length of your post into a poll. Hence, go for it Spy (and others). Reason it out.

Yes it is and the answer is no.

Glad we got that cleared up.

No, for many many reasons. Reading posts up thread it looks like it's all agreed, exceptay be one.
Fwiw, this topic has been done to death ( sorry) in many ways and many other threads from Pritti Patel, to Japan and many threads about the whys and wherefores in the States.

In that sense, perhaps this thread can serve a purpose. Where the topic is brought up on other threads, the posters in question can be respectfully redirected to this one.

In fact, I'm going to start doing exactly this.

Why 'of course'? And what would these 'specific conditions' look like?
I think Spymaster has gone to retrieve them from his 'Correspondence that has been returned to me with instructions not to contact them again from the Home Office, Ministry of Justice, Royal Court of Appeal' folder. It will be next to his draft book 10 Greatest Police Killings .
