Shameless, fawning, Alexandra O Cortez fan thread

Apparently the phrase originally was meant to mean 'trying the impossible' but conservatives turned it into a self-help mantra. Quite fitting for the fantasy politics they push.

Yeah, I looked it up last night.
Is a bit like “I could care less”.

The 'squad' - AOC, Cori Bush, Rashida Tlaib, Mary Peltola, Jamaal Bowman have shown their true colors by supporting capitalists in the rail industry. The squad will no doubt claim some sort of bullshit and people will eat it up and ignore their betrayal. These people are not socialists and are not on the side of workers and the DSA have done nothing about this. Never trust a politician.

“On Wednesday, the House overwhelmingly passed this horrific sell-out of rail workers — only eight Democrats voted against the two bills that make up the deal. The initial deal offered no sick days for workers. The second included seven, which the Progressive Caucus is lauding as an achievement despite the fact that rail workers are demanding 14 sick days. With only one exception, the entire progressive “Squad” voted yes on the initial deal, despite their messaging that it was bad for workers. The entire Squad voted yes for the resolution which included seven sick days, unanimously voting for a bill that still didn’t meet the workers’ full demand.”

They all ought to be hung from lamposts asap I take it?

she got "taken to the woodshed" by pelosi early into her term, she's become a party player and you knew it was going to happen. she might have gotten re-elected by her district but she'd have gotten nowhere in DC otherwise. it's what our departed poster never understood: she was never a socialist in any real sense of the term, if she was she'd never have run for office. critiquing her for not being one was blind. she had to learn to play along if she was going to have any influence, and that's what's going to work out for her constituents in the long term, which is after all why she's there.

how long until she turns into joe crowley?

One of the major criticisms of reformism is that the structural factors present mean that engagement with the process tends to push individuals in acting against the working class, even those that are (initially) genuinely committed to class struggle.
I'm confused as why anarchists and communists highlighting examples of such and criticising politicians that attack the working class either shows a lack f understanding or is a waste of time.

I've never been an AOC fangirl. However, she's pretty impressive in this clip from the Biden impeachment inquiry. One of the panel members presented a text message out of context to support impeaching the President. Turns out he was trying to slip a lie into the impeachment record and AOC called him on it in real time:
