Rugby Union 2017-18

Best 10 min performance by an english scrum half in years! Care comes on and sets up 2 tries and scores one himself!

Im annoyed more than disappointed. Which is a positive against the ABs. That game was there for us to win. 3 or 4 moments where we lost concentration cost us. We fronted up to them & got in their face.

I was working this evening so didn't get to see Scotland game (though as I understand it was broadcast on the BBC so I will watch it on Iplayer) or the Wasps game but for me, a great day - England win with great performances from the Wasps contingent, and now that we have many of our injured players back, Wasps are performing well in the premiership

I was in a pub with no sound, but I assume it was something to do with the front row replacement. Please enlighten me!
Francis YC, Georgians smell blood with a penalty and scrum on our 5 yard line. Every chance of a penalty try. Laws say that you need a full front row so have to bring a replacement on from the bench. Both our props were warming up on the touchline to come on but then suddenly ended up 'injured' and couldn't return to the pitch. Ergo, uncontested scrums robbing Georgia of their area of dominance.

The Cotter to Townsend transition is looking like a grand bit of work from the SRU. Almost competent

though wonder how the now announced move of Russell to Racing will impact
Probably along the same lines as Sexton when he went there. Arriving midweek before an international and leaving the asap after the match is over. I recall Sexton calling it punishing and I guess certainly contributed to his increased injury profile.

I thought our callow team did well against Fiji. Carbery was excellent before he broke his arm. Not an amazing performance overall but as a step to building depth it was credible. Dave Kearney like his brother are probably not long for this level, Dave's loose passing will cost him. Conway is making strides at fullback and when Tiernan O'Halloran regains some fitness, its bye Bob.

Shocking finale by the Welsh to avoid a loss there. Rugby players/coaches feigning injury , fucking go and play footie you tossers.

Is this the most stupid rugby article ever written?

Eddie Jones’ marginal gains show value of keeping man in the middle on side | Andy Bull

Personally I thought the ref did a pretty good job. Not an easy game to control and considering he’s basically a kid in reffing terms he performed well and those tight decisions he got right. What an idiot of a journalist.

That's hilarious, one might almost think he was referring to himself and other journalists as the 'man in the middle'.

Oh wait -

Jones’s acidic answer curdled the mood of the room. He is, they say, a hard man to work with, as prickly as a cactus, and he has a habit of picking on journalists in public. Since England are winning, he could rightly argue that it doesn’t matter a damn, and so long as they carry on that way it won’t cost him anything but amity. If he ever finds himself in need of a little goodwill, however, he may regret the way he is squandering some of it now. As the saying goes, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

He was

I assume he was a bit pissed when he wrote it. It’s ridiculous. The jibe about the ref being a qualified eye doctor, wtf. I don’t like Eddie Jones but can’t blame him for dismissing this idiot.

Yeh - one of the things I like about EJ is when journos ask fucking stupid questions (as so often is the case), he clearly lets the journos know what he thinks of their eejit queries

though having just read the comments both below and on social media, it does appear everyone else thought a) the ref was fine and made the obviously correct decisions, b) that article is utter drivel

one comment sums it up well

Jones is a little strident with a journalist and we get this article. Nuff said

Scotland properly doing the Ozzies, and without Stuart Hogg (though obv. helped by the clear red card)

England first half a but meh, and Launches has gone off injured

That was some heartwarming stuff at the end with the group huddle / prayer circle thingy, no idea what it was, does it happen often now?

Has anyone got any recommendations for rugby streams, which you don't have to sign up to? I tried my normal routes for the England game but they were all shit. I gave up and watched the Scotland second half on the Beeb instead, and I'm damn glad I did.

Beale's disbelief at his card wasn't quite as good as last week, but still entertaining.

Really pleased for Scotland, alright it was against 14 but they made it count.

As for Wales, where were this lot last two times out? Much, much better. That try was lovely.

Oh and here come the excuses about NZ being at the end of a long season, blah, blah, blah. You have to say though, with something like only 20% of the possession, really shows their class to be just in front at half time. I'm not going to lie, quite nervous about the second half for Wales. Hope they do the Kiwis though, I really do.

I wouldn't have ever said that in the 70s or 80s, for the record :D
