Ron DeSantis' Time is Up

Forson’s decision comes in the face of a recently passed Florida law that mandates that books in public schools be subject to review by a “specialist.” The bans more broadly follow an ongoing slew of Florida politicians attacking educators’ and students’ liberties—an assault spearheaded by Florida governor and aspiring fascist Ron DeSantis
Scumbag.

Scumbag.

I like how the Brooklyn Public Library is pushing back against some of this shit by giving teens across America free library cards and access to electronic versions of books banned in other jurisdictions.

Trump just accused DesSantis of being a Groomer for apparently getting too close to students. He was in his 20's and they were late teens or something. I don't know or care, let both of these volcanic cunts smash each other apart. I don't know why I capitalied groomer. More here

DeSantis wins new power over Disney World in ‘don’t say gay’ culture war

More worryingly, though

Separately last week, DeSantis announced plans to block state colleges from having programs on diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as on critical race theory – the study of how racism has shaped American history. That plan comes on the heels of his blocking public high schools from teaching a new advanced placement course on African American studies.
so far, at least 25 states have considered legislation or other steps to limit how race and racism can be taught, according to an analysis from Education Week. Eight states, all Republican-led, have banned or limited the teaching of critical race theory or similar concepts through laws or administrative actions. The bans largely address what can be taught inside the classroom.

DeSantis trying to block gun nuts from his own event might cost him more

than saying he is the new sheriff when he has no control of Disney park aside from tax they were already paying

Based on recent polls, fortunately it looks like DeSantis will not the GOP presidential nomination but in the meantime he continues to take a wrecking ball to education in Florida:
Good. Though I doubt anyone much less sinister will get the nod. That lot seem to churn them out. Sounds like others won't be far behind him in imposing authoritarian interference in higher education in other states.

I have no great affection for the Disney Corporation but I'd still like to see Mickey Mouse beat up DeSantis until his eyes become Xs and there are little birds flying around his head.

I’d kind of like to see the reverse happen too.

Front page on Yahoo this morning: "Florida bill would require bloggers to register before writing about DeSantis" with a video: Florida bill would require bloggers to register before writing about DeSantis

Only text within article is "A bill proposed this week by a Republican state senator in Florida would require bloggers who write about Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.), his Cabinet officers and members of the Florida legislature to register with the state".

People are commenting that it's definitely a large hit to First Amendment Rights.

I got this horror on my phone which has no ad-killer...
The "non-specified relationship status" bit is interesting ...

I decided Florida Bill was a cunt years ago and would sooner hear no more about him.

It's a massive warning as to what to expect from deSantis , if anyone was uncertain at this stage.
