Rishi Sunak’s time is up!

Really? I think it is quite remarkable. As is this:

'Of the 541 MPs with higher education degrees in the 2015-2017 Parliament, only 93 (17%) held degrees in STEM subjects; for comparison, 46% of UK students in 2019 graduated in STEM subjects. This lack of scientific experience among MPs is at odds with the increasing pertinence of scientific issues and techniques to political decision-making.'

There are a lot of lawyers, aren't there. 119 with law degrees in the 2015 parliament, so nearly 20 per cent.

I can't find the number of bankers. Must be a fair few.

Thatcher was famously both a scientist and a lawyer, of course. One of history's oddities is that she briefly worked in the lab of communist sympathiser Dorothy Hodgkin.

Sunak's record as chancellor is one of reluctant furlough scheme, scotching the levelling up agenda and eat out to help out. He's a classic Thatcherite Tory, although most Tories think he was a wet to Johnson's hardline, it's more the other way round. It's possible he'll prove me wrong but I think we're in for no frills, non-populist, austerity Toryism and I think the time is up on that. A question of clinging on for two years and minimising the decline.

Just watched his speech whilst eating my airfried steak and ale pie. As speeches go it was quite good unlike his robotic performance yesterday, clearly he has had a stint in front of the mirror practicing it.

I was surprised by yesterday's performance, because he's always handled media appearances well in the past.

Putting aside the politics for a moment, he certainly comes across as more prime ministerial than Johnson and Truss, not that it's a high bar.

What does 'prime ministerial' mean? Based on the evidence of Prime Ministers I have seen in my lifetime it can only mean 'slimy lying cunt'. He certainly looked Prime Minesterial.
can wear a suit and look solemn and Grown up like Boris you always knew was trying desperately hard not to tell a fart joke and made Michael foot look well dressed.
strangely he wasn't called on his lack of grooming on armistice day:mad:
